Collection News and Updates

We've been busy rearranging spaces in our adult collection to make them more accessible for you.

It will now be easier for you to find your favorite documentaries, History Channel programs, or PBS series within our DVD collection.
Nonficton DVDs are now shelved separately.
Paperbacks are now shelved with adult fiction.
Next time you look for one of these items, be sure to look on the wall near the newspaper table. You'll find our entire nonfiction collection all together in one place now -- should make for easier browsing to help you find that perfect "what to watch next" DVD.

In addition, our small paperbacks have been moved into the adult fiction shelves, between the mysteries and nonfiction titles.

Stop by soon and let us know what you think about these changes.

"Book Blurbs" -- What We've Been Reading
Periodically, we bring you a brief Book Blurb from the staff about what we've been reading/watching/playing. This week, a recommendation from Reference/Adult Services Librarian Libby Fox.

Between Two Kingdoms A Memoir of a Life Interrupted, by Suleika Jaouad, tells the story of the author's transition from a healthy recent college graduate about to embark on the next phase of her life as a war correspondent in Paris, to a patient on the pediatric floor of a New York hospital where she begins a four-year battle with a rare, highly lethal from of leukemia. Following the end of her treatment, Jaouad questions how she'll ever be able to find a path back to a "normal" life.

At times both uplifting and discouraging, this book is for anyone who finds motivation from others' stories of perseverance and triumph over great odds.
