Principal Points
Good Afternoon St. Stephen families,

Last Friday I attended an Administrator's meeting where our Bishop virtually presented a check of $18,000 to the Bishop in Louisiana. This was a result of the generosity of all the Catholic schools in the Diocese. Again, I want to thank our community for how generous you were in helping them to recover from the hurricane.

Back at St. Stephen, we continue to make our outdoor environment more children friendly. Massey will be back on Saturday to do another fire ant treatment and I have contracted them to come out to help eliminate mosquitoes from the playground. We will continue to monitor the situation.

Please read all of Tidbits as there is much exciting news being shared. As always, thank you all for your continued support.

Peace and Blessings,

Linda Umoh

Virtual Book Fair Coming

How exciting to travel through time!
Read a good book and imagine how it was to live in during Medieval Times or see things the way a Charioteer saw them in the 5th century C.E. Books can take your students on all kinds of amazing adventures.
Visit the SSCS Time Machine Virtual Book Fair starting 9/25.
Join the St. Stephen Scouts!
Mrs. D'Angelo shares why your K-5 students should join the St. Stephen Scouts.

Amazon Smile
Amazon Smiles is a great way to support our school! Amazon Smile is a program that donates 0.5% of your eligible purchases on Amazon to a charity of your choice. All you need to do is start your shopping at smile.amazon.com. The donation comes directly from Amazon and does not cost you any extra money. Please set up an Amazon Smiles account and list SSCS as your charity; this is a simple and easy way to donate to your school. We hope you will join the many families who are already helping the school every time they shop on Amazon.
Reminder: PikMyKid
Parents please remember to log into PikMyKid every morning and fill out the Covid screening questions. It is imperative that we have the questionnaire completed before your student enters the school building.

Mustang Sports
Hello Mustangs!

Please read the Hillsborough Catholic Youth Sports League's statement about the updated status of Catholic league middle school sports.

Because we value the health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches, parents, and officials, as well as the people to whom they go home, The Hillsborough County Youth Sports League (HCYSL), has decided to keep with interscholastic athletics on pause through October. The HCYSL will reevaluate the conditions again next month. We intend to begin our interscholastic programs as soon as the data from our community allows.

Coach Green will be sending all the families in 5th-8th grade a link to a short survey about Catholic league sports. We will use the information in this survey to help inform our decisions on moving forward with interscholastic athletics. The survey will remain open until September 28 and is intended for families with students who plan to participate in Catholic league sports. Thank you for your response and input.

Donate to the Can Food Drive
For 175 years, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul has provided person to person services to the most vulnerable in communities throughout the United States. Our school families generously support society's efforts by donating to can food drives during the school year. The drive helps students understand their Christian responsibility to help and care for others. Please be prepared to have your student(s) help with this noteworthy cause by taking to school cans of food to donate.

Each class will be collecting the cans the week of 9/21 for delivery to SVDP on 9/25.
