I am thankful for.....

by Jayla (Grade 7)

"Here at All Saints, I am thankful for having amazing teachers. Including the people who work in the office, cafeteria, and the counselor. Without the staff I wouldn't have gotten all "A's" for the first marking period. Yes, sometimes the teachers are strict, but it's because they know you know the answer, you're just thinking too hard. I am thankful for how All Saint helps and support the community. Not all schools will do things like the Breast Cancer walk. I am thankful for how the school keeps children safe. Like when we're playing kickball, the teachers tell us to stop what we are doing when a car is coming. I am thankful I got accepted into this school. I am thankful for my friends, classmates, and schoolmates. I am thankful I get to pray in school, because some schools do not allow praying in school. But most importantly I am thankful for All Saints Catholic School for being my second family. That's what I am thankful for. So to all the students and staff members I have two works to say to you..... THANK YOU!"

Jayla, along with several other students, presented what they were thankful for at the Thanksgiving Prayer Service.

Saying Good-bye to Principal Wallin

On November 29, with a heavy heart, Mrs. Wanda Wallin announced that she will be leaving All Saints at the end of December to be better available to care for her aging parents. We are very grateful to Mrs. Wallin for all she has done on behalf of All Saints over the last five and a half years! Thank you Mrs. Wallin, stay in touch and God bless!

Mr. Ken Soistman will continue his role as president and will assume the responsibilities of principal and head of school until a new principal is found.  Mr. Soistman served as principal of All Saints for 17 years before becoming president in 2013 and, prior to moving to Virginia, he was a principal in Florida for 20 years. Mr. Soistman, with all our faculty and staff, look forward to continuing an exceptional year.  After the holidays, a national search for a principal will be convened by a search committee of Board members, teachers/staff, parents, and Diocesan representation.
Holiday Giving

All Saints participates in a toy drive for local families in need in partnership with Radio One.
The holidays are a time of giving. If you choose to give to All Saints - thank you!

Your donation will go a long way in providing a Catholic education of high moral expectations and academic rigor, especially for those who may not have the opportunity otherwise. Your support will help students in vital ways: tuition assistance, academic tools, extra-curricular activities, capital improvements and full mission support (like transportation for Hispanic students).

One more week to file State Tax Credit to benefit All Saints
We have recently learned that the government department that processes the State Tax Credit program (EISTC)  will be short-staffed  until 2019. The d epartment  has indicated that they cannot guarantee that paperwork filed after December 12th will be processed in this tax year. We are being even more cautious and asking EISTC donors to file by December 1st to ensure a smooth process, especially if using stock or credit card. EISTC donors will still have until 12/31 to make their gift.  Please do not hesitate to contact Alyssa McBride if you have any questions about an EISTC pledge or the process:

Want to learn more about this program which provides a 65% state tax credit to donors and needed scholarships to All Saints students?
