Clothing Drive- Spireon, Inc.

We would like to give a shout out to the staff at
Spireon, Inc. for doing a clothing drive for our Community Clothes Closet! It's because of generous community members that we are able to provide FREE professional clothing to those in need.

Women United was so busy putting up Little Free Libraries that we needed more! John Deere Dubuque Works took action and built 8 Little Free Libraries!!

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

Tricia Schumacher

Tricia Schumacher, a native Dubuquer, enjoys spending time with her husband, 3 children, daughter-in-law, and 2 granddaughters. She is also excitedly looking forward to holding her grandson when he is born in February. Tricia feels strongly about being a positive impact on others and strives to be more of a giver than a taker. She is proud to work for John Deere, which encourages a strong community commitment.

Besides volunteering in as many John Deere community service events as her schedule permits, Tricia feels honored to be a small part of Women United and United Way's many outreach programs. For example, one afternoon each month she stops by the Community Clothes Closet in the basement of the Town Clock NICC building to restock and organize. She has been blessed on several occasions to meet and assist several clients with their needs. In August, she volunteered at the Back to School Bash and was rewarded with many smiles from the kids as they enjoyed healthy snacks and new books. Tricia feels that each volunteer opportunity helps her become a better person and that even though there is a lot of darkness in this world, just one act of kindness can bring light to many, including her.
