Dear St. Theresa School Parents,
The Christmas concert is scheduled for Monday, December 17 th: The K-2 concert will be at 1:45 pm, and parents may take their child home after the concert. The evening concert for grades 3-8 will begin at 6:30 pm, and students are asked to arrive no later than 6:20 pm. Please follow the dress code listed in this newsletter.
I wish to thank the several individuals who attended the Basketball Tournament meeting this past Monday. We had a very good discussion and the committee has decided to hold a final preparatory meeting just before the start of the tournament on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 7:00 pm.
An electronic and hard copy of the volunteer sign-up sheet will soon be made available. We are looking for parents to participate by taking a few two-hour shifts (see template), in order to help us host our 32 nd annual tournament. This year's dates are from Thursday, January 3 rd to Sunday, January 27 th , 2019. There may be changes based on weather and/or make-up games.
We are offering local businesses the opportunity to advertise their services with a sign or banner, which will be displayed in the gym during the entire tournament for the cost of $100.00 (see form).
Below is a list of the Tournament Coordinators:
Chairperson: Mr. Todd Beardsworth                         Kitchen: Mr. John

Skype in the Classroom

Mr. Agostino arranged a fantastic Skype call with a veteran of WWII and the entire middle school enjoyed his wonderful, inspirational words and two of our 4th graders who received letters from him got to say thank you and hello!!!

Veterans

"Recently, the middle school and 4th grade students sent out Veterans Day cards to several of our nations Veterans. Two of the Veterans that the students wrote to this past Veterans Day wrote back to express their thanks. The first was former Vice-President Dan Quayle. The nation's forty-forth Vice-President was pleased to receive letters from students that thanked him for his service in the United Sates Army from 1969 - 1975. During his tenure in the Army, he reached the rank of Sergeant. Later, he would become President George H.W. Bush's Vice-President. The second was General Colin Powell, who served as the nation's Secretary of State from 2001 to 2005. The students thanked him for his service in the United States Army from 1958 to 1993. Powell is a decorated war Veteran who has many awards, including the Bronze Star Medal, Air Force Distinguished Service Medal, and four Defense Distinguished Service Medals, among countless others."

Think First and Stay Safe

Today the Bridgeport Diocesan office sent Mrs. Pamela Arsenault to visit our school and she did the "Think First & Stay Safe" program for all students from kindergarten through 8th grade. She did a wonderful job and she also complimented our students for their EXTRAordinary behavior and participation in the program.
Mrs.Arsenault ( Gallagher)had attended St. Theresa's school with our own Mrs. Hutvagner so I thought a picture of the two of them was appropriate to share with everyone- a wonderful reunion of two dedicated professional women!

Class Trip

The students in Grades 1, 2, and 3 enjoyed a wonderful performance of "The Christmas Elf" at The Downtown Cabaret Theater on Wednesday, December 5th.
Such a great afternoon being together, singing, and getting into the holiday spirit! Thank you to all the moms and dads who were able to join us to chaperone!
