The 2019 Affiliate Leadership Meeting will involve affiliate leaders from across the continent, NCTE elected leaders and staff, and invited guests. NCTE will provide partial reimbursement of attendance costs for up to two representatives from each affiliate.  The Affiliate Leadership Meeting Attendee Policy governs who should represent each affiliate.
PROFESSIONAL READING OPPORTUNITIES

Some NCTE affiliate board members have found that reading and discussing professional literature together can benefit them as they work to meet the needs of affiliate members. What issues are of most concern to educators in your affiliate? What topics are most relevant to your affiliate’s future professional development offerings? The NCTE Winter Book Club Cafe and the NCTE Holiday Book Sale offer some possibilities for professional reading.
NCTE WINTER BOOK CLUB CAFE

Connect around a good book! Invite your affiliate members to join the NCTE Winter Book Club Cafe for a discussion of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Americanah.

Carol Jago will facilitate conversations, discuss teaching ideas, and share resources as part of this Facebook closed group book club. Participants can log in for the live event each day, January 2-4, from 11:00 to 11:30 ET, or watch the recording at a later time.

Share the registration link with your affiliate members.
NCTE PROFESSIONAL READING

Explore the professional reading and other titles available for just $5 in the NCTE End-of-Year Holiday Sale.

Consider choosing a title for spring semester reading and discussion, perhaps focusing on a theme for your affiliate’s next conference.
