.....Last Thursday, the Fondren Business District formally welcomed friends and neighbors back with Fondren Live, a celebration of street performances and all that Fondren is known for: great food and drinks in a welcoming environment.
.....The next Fondren Live is scheduled for Thursday, July 1. You can enjoy some repeat entertainers plus a few new buskers. (Same great food and drinks!)
.....Our Fondren Neighborhood Association will host its quarterly meeting on Tuesday, June 15. The meeting will be held at The Cedars, 4145 Old Canton Road. You can also attend via Zoom.
.....Speakers include Dr. Charles Williams, Director of Public Works; Commander Obie Wells, Precinct 4, and Councilwoman Virgi Lindsay, Ward 7.
.....Social at 5:30 p.m.; meeting starts at 6 p.m.
Last week, the new owners of the Woodland Hills Shopping Center installed a new sign, designed and installed by Fondren resident Scott Allen and his company, A+ Signs. It's just another "sign" that good things are happening in Fondren. The Magnolia Lounge is open!
.....Members of The Renaissance Society gathered recently to celebrate the refurbishing and opening of The Magnolia Lounge at The Cedars. The Lounge will be used for special events and rentals at The Cedars. Virtual Neighborhood Watch signs are now available to deter people from entering your property to commit a crime. For a donation of $10, FRF will deliver a yard sign to your property. You can relocate the sign, once it is received.
