This month's issue is shorter than usual as Senior Colleges members dig out their shorts and sunblock for the Summer season.
Mind you, many Senior Colleges are still very busy. Some have Summer classes, lecture series and field trips on offer. Meanwhile, Senior College boards will continue to meet, elect, and renew officers, while also making grand plans for the Fall and next year!

Celebrate their 20th Anniversary
(Photo above.) Marjorie Jamback, Dr. Cynthia Mowles and Dr. Al Shinkel greet arrivals at the YCSC Annual Luncheon and 20th Anniversary celebrations. The event took place at the Ramada Inn, Saco on June 5, 2019.
YCSC Chair, Jane Carlson Chairperson Jane Carlson welcomed members and guests to the luncheon. Jane introduced and thanked Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 instructors for offering their courses.
The following Council members were introduced and thanked for all their continued hard work: Fleurette Bannon, Mary Blood, Elmer Brown, Bob Dunn, Pat DuFosse, Michelle Fecteau, Ted Hargrove, Marjorie Jamback, Cynthia Mowles, Pat Peck, Pat Scammon, and Al Shinkel.
Chairperson Jane Carlson presented a special gift to Gloria Day. Gloria has served on the Council for 13 years and has been the YCSC Secretary for 11 years. She is stepping down from these positions for a
much-deserved break!
Congratulations to Jane Carlson, and all the hard working Council members who have served YCSC over the past twenty years! The Maine Senior College Network wishes you another successful twenty years!

America and re-erected at the Peabody Essex Museum.

History of the Bouchard Family Farm with Alban Bouchard
Join Alban Bouchard as he tells the story of a six-generation family farm started in
1841 by Israel Bouchard, some twenty eight years before Fort Kent became a town. It continues to-
day through the hard work and dedication of Joe, Janice, and Philip Bouchard. Once a self-sufficient
farm growing crops for family consumption, it has grown into a diversified farm producing potatoes,
beef, pumpkins, blueberries, alpacas, and grains including perhaps its most famous "Ploye"
flour (buckwheat). A recent expansion has been the opening of a Country store.

Field trip:
Four-Wheeling Excursion with Bert Levesque
Come join us for a scenic four-wheeler ride to St. Agatha for lunch at the Lakeview Restaurant.
The return trip will be via Frenchville trails getting us back to Fort Kent - July 10.
Field Trip:
Aroostook State Park / Crown of Maine Balloon Festival
Join us for an afternoon visit to Aroostook State Park where you can choose to sit and enjoy
the shore of Echo Lake, take a relaxing walk/hike around the park, or climb to the summit of
Quoggy Jo mountain. Next, we will visit the monument dedicated to the first successful trans
-Atlantic balloon flight. Finally, we will have a picnic lunch (bring you own lunch and chair),
before driving to the Balloon Festival at the Presque Isle Fair Grounds to watch the Mass
Ascension of Balloons at 5:30 and the Balloon Glow at dusk.
