Legendary broadcast journalist, Katie Couric, shares how she and her family were personally affected by cancer and found comfort in using Cancer Care's free supportive services in a recent podcast with CURE.

CancerCare Publishes New Manifesto 

The CancerCare Patient Values Initiative (PVI) aims to reframe the national healthcare policy dialogue to include what is important to patients and their families, and to make sure that patients' values and priorities are incorporated into treatment decision making. Cancer Care recently released the   Patient Values Manifesto , which was developed through the Cancer Care PVI. This new manifesto provides a roadmap to guide the development of resources and tools that will help integrate what is important to patients into their treatment decision making process. 
 
 
 
 
CancerCare Holds Stakeholder Meeting to Create Model Disaster Preparedness and Response Program
 
On Wednesday, May 15, CancerCare held a stakeholder meeting to begin creating a model disaster preparedness and response program for cancer patients and providers. By bringing together 18 premier cancer and other organizations, this meeting identified and addressed the challenges cancer patients face in the wake of a natural disaster. 

 
 
 
 
Carolyn Messner Receives the Quality of Life in Cancer Care Award at AOSW

Cancer Care is excited to announce that our Director of Education and Training,  Carolyn Messner , DSW, received the Association of Oncology Social Work's (AOSW) Quality of Life in Cancer Care Award, a prestigious honor sponsored by the American Cancer Society. Dr. Messner oversees all Connect Education Workshops, the free one-hour telephone and online workshops that feature world leading cancer experts.

Festival of Hope Gala Highlights the Importance of Community
 
Cancer Care supporters gathered at the Park Savoy in Florham Park, NJ, on May 8, 2019, to celebrate Cancer Care's 31st Annual Festival of Hope Gala. Health care industry leaders, philanthropists and friends of the organization raised funds to support Cancer Care's free services for anyone affected by cancer. The evening honored Bayer with the Corporate Achievement Award.

Join CancerCare's 2nd Annual Young Professionals Committee Fundraiser 

CancerCare's Young Professionals Committee is hosting its 2nd annual fundraiser event at the Michael Kors Building on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at 6 p.m. This event will raise funds for a new scholarship program that will support young adults attending college who have lost their parent(s) to cancer.

CancerCare's Young Professionals Committee is comprised of industry leaders under 40 in the greater New York City area dedicated to advancing CancerCare's mission.
