Carmel Counseling Center Ministry Expands Services

Since 1991, Carmel Counseling Center ministry has been a place of hope for healing and restoration, offering professional counseling that is distinctly Christian.

In response to the growing prevalence of sensory, behavioral, and developmental needs in children being served by the counseling center and a desire for more coordinated care, new space and staff have been allocated to provide Occupational Therapy (OT).  For children, Play Therapy supports psychological, emotional, and relational healing and growth.  Occupational Therapy focuses on helping children with cognitive, physical, and sensory needs, in order to enhance their success at home and school.

Michelle Teague, a 30-year veteran in this field, will be leading our pediatric OT services. Click here to learn more about Michelle and here for an overview of all services available through the Carmel Counseling Center.

Did you know? In the past 12 months, the counseling center ministry has served more than 750 people - 50% of whom are not Carmel members.

Praise....

Praise for the summer interns serving alongside our ministry teams! From left to right, Lanie James, (CarmelKidz), Dillion Carpenter (Student Ministry),  Sam Marus (CarmelKidz), Lauran Haney (Student Ministry), and Hallie James (CarmelKidz). Each of these interns grew up at Carmel and we love having them back here to serve!

Praise for the twice-a-month devotional and worship time hosted by Carmel volunteers for the residents at Carriage Club (a continuing care retirement community just a few miles from Carmel). This past Sunday was hosted by the Fellowship Discipleship Community. T eaching from Ephesians 2, Dr. Don Bouldin reminded the residents that they are the light that Jesus put in Carriage Club and of the tremendous opportunity they have to "shine light right here."

Praise for the 180 sheet sets donated for ministry partner Beds for Kids. We've got 3 Sundays left for this collection. We'd love to bless this ministry partner with 700 total NEW sheet sets (twin/queen/full). Keep them coming!

Praise (and prayers) for the 279 Students and 55 Adult volunteers who loaded 6 buses and left this afternoon for Student Ministry's Camp Carmel. They'll take over Crowder's Ridge Retreat Center for 5 days of relational and spiritual growth. What's camp like? Check out  last year's camp video.
