Stay up to date!
From Sunday:
God's calling on your will have an impact even longer than your lifetime. That's the whole point of this series but I want to end with one more huge truth.
Bring someone with you. As you go live the mission you were made for, don't go alone. Bring someone along for the ride. This may be the single greatest leadership lesson we learn from the life of Jesus. . . Bring someone with you. You know how many times it says Jesus took his disciples and they went somewhere? Me neither. I started counting through the Gospels and lost track because just about every time he went some where he intentionally brought people with him. There are examples when he was alone.  But the evidence is abundantly clear that with incredible intentionality Jesus brought people with him.
As you serve in a ministry, invite someone to serve with you. Would you like to try being an usher or greeter? Bring someone with you. . .

En Agape',
Rev. Michael Weeks

Senior Rides
ACES joined with MCEF (Mechanicsville Churches Emergency Functions) in 2014 to offer rides to seniors (60+) who are no longer able to drive but would like to stay in their home as long as possible. This free transportation program is for scheduled medical appointments, grocery shopping and for personal business, such as banking. Our riders must be ambulatory. We also provide rides to anyone who may have a medical condition that requires frequent trips for medical treatments such as dialysis or chemotherapy. An envelope is provided to our riders so that, if they wish, they can make a donation to help sustain our program.
Our volunteer drivers are paid 25 cents per mile and are provided liability insurance coverage. Potential drivers are required to provide a valid driver's license, their DMV record and give ACES permission to request a background check. They are also required to take 8 hours of driver's safety training (usually provided by AARP). All expenses are paid by ACES. Through a web-based program, volunteer drivers can select rides, based on their schedule. We ask that the drivers try to give at least 4 rides per month.
If you are interested in becoming a rider or a driver, in our program, please contact us at 804-543-6115 or via email at [email protected]. If you desire, the packets for both rider and driver are available for download on our website: www.aceshanover.org . Select the "About Us" tab and then "Services" to find those packets. Once the form is completed, send it to: ACES, P. O. Box 114, Ashland, VA 23005.
