President Tolbert Elected Vice Chairman of the Southern University System Board of Supervisors
During its annual Bayou Classic meeting held in New Orleans, Louisiana, our President, Rev. Dr. Samuel C. Tolbert, Jr., was unanimously elected to serve a one year term as Vice Chairman by his colleagues on the Southern University Board of Supervisors.
The Southern University System is the only Historically Black College (HBCU) System in the world. Founded by the Louisiana State Constitution in 1974 and with over 12,000 students enrolled, the System is comprised of five academic and professional campuses located throughout the state of Louisiana.
