We are pleased to present prizes for the strangest trash found. Amie Bakery gift cards go to:
Sasha Bronov - for finding a windshield
Malcolm and Clarisse Collins - for finding a mattress
Victoria Arce - for finding an item too strange to announce

LOWER SCHOOL NEWS
Special Activities Planned for Headmaster's Holiday

Today is a Headmaster's Holiday: middle and upper school students are not having classes, but lower school students are on campus for this special day. Ms. Hobday has planned special activities for Poem in Your Pocket Day, and since it is Arbor Day, the 5th-grade students are presenting their donation of a dwarf lilac bush to our courtyard. This will be a beautiful addition to the courtyard that will serve as the hosting spot for many of our spring activities and celebrations.

The students are also enjoying a special pizza lunch and dressing in a theme they chose for the day: favorite sports attire. Students are wearing clothing that represents their favorite sports team.
CCA Third-Grader Wins Merit Award at Massachusetts Invention Convention
Recently, CCA's third-grade students participated in the Massachusetts Invention Convention. This year’s challenge was to invent something that would help with remote learning. Congratulations to Liza, who won a Merit Award for her invention of the Mobile Laptop Mover. She was also chosen as one of 16 student finalists who will represent Massachusetts at the 2021 Raytheon Technologies Invention Convention U.S. Nationals in June. Well done, Liza!
National Poem in Your Pocket Day

April 29th was National Poem in your Pocket Day. Lower school students celebrated the event this week by sharing a variety of poems. Students from various grades teamed up and shared original favorites while others shared favorite poems from the poetry books they have been using in library classes during April (National Poetry Month).

PARENTS ASSOCIATION NEWS
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 3-7

Teacher Appreciation Week is next week, May 3 - 7. The PA has some amazing things planned each day for our teachers. We are very grateful for the donations that you have been sending in to support our plans.

If you have not already done so, please have your child write a thank you note to his/her teacher, which we will place in the teachers' mailboxes during the week. Notes should be dropped off in the designated boxes located in Chope Commons and Davis Commons. If your children forget to write their letters at home, there are extra thank you notes near the boxes. Thank you!
