California Consulting Client, City of Patterson, Received the California Natural Resource Agency Urban Greening Round 3 Grant for Over $1.8 Million Dollars

California Consulting is pleased to announce our client City of Patterson, has been awarded the California Natural Resources Agency Urban Greening Award Round 3 grant in the amount of $1,808,145.
This award will help in funding the Patterson Urban Bicycle Trail Project at Salado Creek.
This is an incredible example of the City of Patterson's leadership to promote the quality of life for its residents. It's also a reflection of the dedication and hard work of CC Project Manager, Ilya Malinsky, who ensured a successful application.

California Consulting CEO Steve Samuelian was invited by the California School Board Association (CSBA) for the second consecutive year to give the table talk presentation,
How to Get theTop Grants to Help Your Districts Bottom Line.
He discussed how to identify the best grants for your school district, how to maximize your time in securing and managing them, and provide important tools and resources with tips to successfully research, identify and administer government grants.
The table talk was held at the CSBA annual conference held in December in San Diego, CA.
California School Board Association (CSBA) is the largest gathering of school board members and superintendents from all across California.

Team Member Spotlight
Ann Vermel, Senior Project Manager
|
|
Ann Vermel is California Consulting Senior Project Manager. Ann is is an executive coach and professional writer serving the Community Benefit sector. She has extensive experience in development and executive management of nonprofit organizations, with special emphasis on the arts, higher education and community service organizations.
Her background includes service as Executive Director of the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, Artistic Administrator at the San Francisco Opera and Director of Development for the General Libraries at the University of California Berkeley, Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations for Menlo College and Director of Development for De Anza College. She was a founding officer of the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies, and has served as a grants reader for the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Department of Justice.
She has worked with a broad cross section of the Valley’s community service organizations. As a development professional and consultant her leadership has raised more than $72 million for her clients. Ann has an AB from Barnard College and an MFA from California State University Fresno. She has a Certificate in Arts Administration from the Harvard Graduate School of Business and is retired as a Certified Fund Raising Executive. She is currently a fellow of Creating the Future.

Municipal and Educational Grant Opportunties

CalTrans: Local Roadway Safety Plan (LRSP) and Systemic Safety Analysis Report Program (SSARP)

Eligibility:
Local agencies – i.e. County, RTPA, MPO
A total of $10 million from the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) was set aside and exchanged for state funds to assist local agencies developing their safety plans. Each applicant may have up to $72,000 of state funds. The funds will be awarded to the applicants on a “first come first serve” basis. There is no application deadline. Caltrans will continue to accept applications as long as the funding is available. Safety plans can include evaluation and identification of dangerous traffic conditions (with frequent and/or severe collisions), mapping, traffic counts (any/all modes), countermeasure selection, and community engagement or other safety plan activities. In future rounds of HSIP funding, an LRSP or SSARP will be required.

California Department of Parks and Recreation: Land Water Conservation Fund (LWCF).

Up to $6 million
Match:
MATCH is no less than 50% of the TOTAL PROJECT COST. In other words, MATCH can range from 50% to 99% of the TOTAL PROJECT COST.
Eligibility:
Cities, counties, Native American tribal governments, Joint Powers Authorities, Non-State agency recreation and Park districts and special districts with authority to acquire, operate, and maintain public park and recreation areas.
Projects must be acquisition or development. ACQUISITION must result in a NEW RECREATION OPPORTUNITY for the public within three years after the completion of the ACQUISITION. Only a phase that creates a fully useable recreational opportunity must be completed and open to the public within three years after the completion of the ACQUISITION. DEVELOPMENT of RECREATION FEATURES must be for outdoor recreation, not indoor recreation.
