The CCSD Summer Meal program is expanding from one to three locations. It will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekdays between May 29 and July 26, at Overland High School, Horizon Community Middle School and Meadow Point Elementary School. The program will be closed on Thurs., July 4 for the Independence Day holiday.

“It is so rewarding to keep kids fueled up over the summer so they are ready to learn when school starts again in August,” said Kim Kilgore, director of Food and Nutrition Services for Cherry Creek Schools. “Our Food and Nutrition Services department has partnered with our Health Services, Extended Childcare Services and Wellness teams to promote the program and reach as many students as possible this summer. Our staff can’t wait for the program to begin and so they can serve up a healthy, hot lunch while getting to know our communities!”

Used Uniforms on Facebook
The CCA PTO's bi-annual Used Uniform Sale items are donation only and the proceeds help to provide items that are beyond the CCA annual budget such as student agendas, new student welcome activities, classroom stipends for teachers, and appreciation events for teachers, staff, and administration. These funds also support other PTO related costs.

As an alternative to the PTO's Used Uniform Sales, we have created a Facebook group to provide a space for the CCA community to buy, sell, and trade uniforms privately. Please click here to join!

Please note, Cherry Creek Academy will not be held liable or intervene in the buying, selling, and/or trading of any items in this group. Members should buy, sell, and/or trade at their own risk.
The Colorado Department of Education strongly emphasizes the importance of reading over the summer in order to prevent what is referred to as the " summer slide." The " summer slide" is a term used to describe the tendency for students to "lose some of the achievement gains they made during the previous school year.

As an academically rigorous charter school, CCA requires students to complete reading over the summer. You can access the Required and Recommended Reading Lists on the CCA website and by clicking here. CCA also helps our students combat the " summer slide" by providing Readiness Packets. Completion of the Readiness Packets are not required and are optional for students.Packets were emailed out last week. If you did not receive a Readiness Packet for your child(ren), please contact Chelsea Anderson, CCA's Communications Director, at canderson@cherrycreekacademy.org.

Arapahoe Library will also have a summer reading program for all ages beginning June 1st. For more information on the Arapahoe Libraries Summer Reading program, please click here. A rapahoe Libraries has also added our Required & Recommended Reading lists to their website. Please click here to view CCA's lists on the Arapahoe Libraries page.
