DEMENTIA COMMUNITY INVESTMENT FUNDING

This Dementia Community Investment funding will seek to optimize the wellbeing of people living with dementia (PLWD) and/or family/friend caregivers.

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) invites organizations to submit applications. This solicitation is a two-step process. The first step is the submission of a Letter of Intent (LOI). Applicants with LOIs best aligned with the overall requirements of the funding program will move onto the second stage of the application process under which they will receive an Invitation to Submit a Funding Request (ISFR). The ISFR will ask for more detailed information on the applicability of the proposed project as well as the applicant's capacity to successfully conduct the proposed work.

It is anticipated that via this two-step process up to 12 projects will ultimately be selected and that there will be periodic intake of new projects through a similar process every two years.

The deadline to submit a Letter of Intent is December 10, 2018.

CURATED MUSIC PLAY LIST
MacEwan Experiential Learning Partnership Opportunity

Community Engaged Learning at MacEwan University is looking for community partners who are interested in having first year music students put together a customized play list on either Spotify, Google Play or Apple Music for your specific space and audience. Examples include a recreation space that wants background music for crafting or social activities (for youth, adults or seniors), retail space that wants to attract a particular demographic, or background music for a specific event.

Each community partner will receive:
  • The play list assembled on your choice of either Spotify, Google, or Apple Systems
  • A report on what you should know about SOCAN licensing and fees using the music in your specific organization for the purpose you are proposing
Timelines:
  • Community partners will visit campus on January 24, 12:30 - 2 p.m. to meet with the student teams. Students choose partners at the start of the term. Student teams and community partners may decide that the team should visit the space but that is not a requirement of the course.
  • The final report and play list will be delivered the week of March 25, 2019.
If your organization is interested in participating, register your request online. Contact Gillian Kemp, Experiential Learning Facilitator, if you have questions. Gillian can be reached at kempg3@macewan.ca or 780-633-3046.
