Two New Murals on HCC Section of District Trail System

Everyone's favorite mural artist, Larry Crawford , is at it again this fall, painting two new murals alongside the HCC Campus Trail portion of Westchase District's trail system.

The first is located just north of Meadowglen Lane on the west side of the trail. It depicts various runners enjoying a jog on a trail. From the smallest in a stroller to the four-legged variety, everyone can enjoy a run or walk along the trail on a beautiful day.

The second mural is a work in progress on the west-facing wall of the Market at Westchase shopping center at Wilcrest and Westheimer (11103 Westheimer). Crawford plans to finish the mural by the end of November.

District Service Plan Extension Hearing December 5

At the petition of more than 50 Westchase District property owners, Westchase District will conduct a special public hearing to consider extending the District's service plan. The hearing will take place at 9 a.m., Wednesday, December 5, in the first floor conference space at 10370 Richmond Avenue.

Our current service plan expires in 2023. The new proposed plan makes no changes to the annual budget, maintains the 9-cent assessment rate in place since 1995, continues the 11-cent assessment rate cap, and has no impact on current assessments. This plan simply proposes to revise the duration of the service plan to coincide with Westchase District's 380 Area Agreement with the City of Houston.

As our board prepares to seek additional years of project funding from the 380 program, we want to assure the City that we will be here to continue this partnership and bring millions more to our community for transformational projects. At this hearing, business owners and property managers will hear directly from our staff about what has been achieved in Westchase District since our founding in 1995 and how the 380 program will bring millions more to our community. We hope our property owners and stakeholders will attend this hearing. No RSVP is necessary ,
