TSAHC believes in the power of education and building capacity for our nonprofit housing partners. Through our Housing Connection, we want to help affordable housing and counseling organizations access trainings, promote themselves, build capacity as well as provide a network where best practices can be shared. 
Monthly Spotlight:

On September 4th, TSAHC rolled out a new 5% down payment assistance product that offers a MUCH lower interest rate on the HFA Preferred Conventional loan. The down payment assistance will be in the form of a repayable 2nd lien with 0% interest and no monthly payments due.

In a recent exploratory study, researchers evaluated the link between financial education and health among low-income, single mothers in Omaha. The investigators measured changes in health and wellbeing one and two years after participating in the program with a pre- and post-surveys.


In early September, vice president and chief innovation officer of the Urban Institute, Erika Poethig, testified before members of the US House of Representatives to share evidence on the impact of regulations on the development of affordable multifamily rental housing. Poethig cited research that highlights housing's centrality to and interconnectedness with other policy domains. Amid America's current housing crisis, learning how to apply housing research and ensuring that it reaches the hands of cross-sector change makers who can turn insights into action is more important than ever.
