The Dominical Feast of The Nativity & Epiphany of Our Lord Jesus Christ was celebrated at St. Sarkis Church with a great enthusiasm. On Sunday, January 5, 2020 the Christmas Eve services were presided over by His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan Tanielian, Prelate. The Scripture passages were read by various members of our community and were followed by the Divine Liturgy and a homily by Fr. Nareg Terterian.

 

On Monday, January 6th, 2020, the community of St. Sarkis Church to celebrated the Dominical Feast of The Nativity & Epiphany of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Fr. Nareg Terterian, who also delivered a sermon. 

 

Following the Badarak was the Blessing of Water Service, symbolizing the baptism of Christ in the River Jordan. The service was presided over by His Eminence Archbishop Oshagan Choloyan.  The Godfather of the Cross was Paul Nenejian, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Raffi & Jeannette Nenejian. 

 

As the service concluded parishioners received blessed water.

THE EPISTLE OF ST. PAUL TO THE ROMANS 1:1-7 

Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy scriptures, the gospel concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh and was declared to be Son of God with power according to the spirit of holiness by resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles for the sake of his name,  including yourselves who are called to belong to Jesus Christ,

To all God's beloved in Rome, who are called to be saints:

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

 

 

ՊՕՂՈՍ ԱՌԱՔԵԱԼԻ ՆԱՄԱԿԸ ՀՌՈՄԱՅԵՑԻՆԵՐՈՒՆ 1.1-7

  Ես, Պօղոս, ծառան եմ Քրիստոս Յիսուսի, որ զիս կանչեց իր առաքեալը ըլլալու եւ պաշտօն տուաւ Աստուծոյ Աւետարանը քարոզելու: Սուրբ գիրքերուն մէջ արձանագրուած կը գտնէք, թէ Աստուած կանուխէն իր մարգարէներուն միջոցաւ խոստացաւ տալ այս աւետիսը, որ կը վերաբերի իր Որդիին՝ մեր Տէր Յիսուս Քրիստոսի, որ իբրեւ մարդ՝ Դաւիթի սերունդէն ծնաւ, բայց որ իբրեւ Աստուծոյ Որդի յայտնուեցաւ, երբ իր Սուրբ Հոգիին զօրութեամբ մեռելներէն յարութիւն առաւ: Ան էր որ ինծի առաքեալ ըլլալու շնորհքը տուաւ, որպէսզի իր անունին հաւատալու եւ հնազանդելու հրաւիրեմ բոլոր ազգերը, որոնց կարգին դուք ալ Յիսուս Քրիստոսի պատկանելու կանչուեցաք:

           

Ողջո՜յն բոլորիդ որ Հռոմ կը բնակիք. ձեզի՝ որ Աստուած սիրեց եւ իր սուրբ ժողովուրդը ըլլալու կանչեց: Թող Աստուած մեր Հայրը եւ Տէր Յիսուս Քրիստոս շնորհք եւ խաղաղութիւն  պարգեւեն ձեզի:

 

 

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST  ACCORDING TO LUKE (2.1-7) 

In those days a decree went out from Emperor Augustus that all the world should be registered. This was the first registration and was taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria. All went to their own towns to be registered. Joseph also went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, because he was descended from the house and family of David. He went to be registered with Mary, to whom he was engaged and who was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. 

ՅԻՍՈՒՍ ՔՐԻՍՏՈՍԻ ԱՒԵՏԱՐԱՆԸ ԸՍՏ ՂՈՒԿԱՍԻ 2.1-7

  Այդ օրերուն Օգոստոս կայսր հրամանագիր հանեց՝ իր կայսրութեան սահմաններուն մէջ գտնուող բոլոր բնակիչներուն մարդահամարը կատարելու: Այս առաջին մարդահամարը տեղի ունեցաւ Սուրիոյ կառավարիչ Կիւրենիոսի օրերուն: Ամէն մարդ իր ծննդավայրը կ՚երթար իր անունը արձանագրել տալու համար: Յովսէփ Դաւիթի սերունդէն ըլլալու համար, Գալիլիայի Նազարէթ քաղաքէն ելաւ եւ իր անունը արձանագրել տալու համար գնաց Հրէաստանի Բեթլեհէմ քաղաքը՝ Դաւիթ թագաւորի ծննդավայրը: Իրեն կ՚ընկերանար իր նշանածը՝ Մարիամ, որ յղի էր:

           

Բեթլեհէմի մէջ, Մարիամի ծննդաբերութեան ժամանակը հասաւ եւ ծնաւ իր անդրանիկ զաւակը, որ փաթթեց խանձարուրի մէջ եւ դրաւ մսուրի մը մէջ, որովհետեւ պանդոկին մէջ իրենց համար տեղ չկար:
