Tank Anderson’s Memory Continues to Serve DeKalb Wrestling Community
|
We are honored to announce the Donald "Tank" Anderson Memorial Fund.
Created in memory of Tank Anderson (DeKalb native, Army veteran, and retired fire fighter), this fund serves two functions: to support the activities of the DeKalb Wrestling Club and to fund the Donald “Tank” Anderson Memorial Scholarship.

$104,475 Awarded in "Gifts of Education"
|
Each year, charitable funds at the Community Foundation generate scholarship awards ranging from $250-$9,500 for graduating seniors of DeKalb County high schools.
This year, 87 scholarship awards were presented, totaling $104,475.

Give DeKalb County Raises
$751,050

In its sixth year, Give DeKalb County reached new heights with
the most participating nonprofits, the most donations, the highest number of donors, and the largest amount raised
, during the May 2 giving day. A total of 1,901 donors gave back from 43 different states and four countries.

Renaissance Scholarship
Applications Open
|
The Renaissance Scholarship offers a
$1,000 initial scholarship, renewable for up to three years
to an individual returning to school for his or her undergraduate degree after being a part of the work force. If this sounds like you or someone you know, consider applying for a Renaissance Scholarship. Deadline is June 23.

$123,432 Awarded in Community Needs Grants
|
This spring,
29 local nonprofit and community organizations received a total of $123,432 in support for a variety of programs and projects
aimed at serving the needs of the community.

Youth Serving Programs and Projects Receive $14,005 in Grants
|
During the 10 Year Celebration Event on May 9,
Youth Engaged in Philanthropy (YEP) members awarded $14,005 in grants to nine local organizations
for a variety of youth-serving programs and projects.

Registration is now open for DCNP's annual conference, Nonprofit Day (July 24).
This valuable professional development and networking opportunity offers a keynote presentation, nine concurrent breakout sessions, networking reception, and more.
