That winter wind is cold...
We had snow, then rain, and now we're headed back to snow again. It's been quite a chilly November here in Vermont - maybe we'll have a bit of a break in December. We can hope, anyway! And now here we are, barreling toward the holidays, and the days are counting down quickly. Most of you are already working on your gifts, but for those who haven't started yet, don't panic - there's still a little time. Get yourself organized, make a list, and stop in to see us. We'll help you check off those list items so you can head home and start sewing, or fusing, or stuffing, or gluing. There are so many ways to be crafty when you're making gifts.

As the holidays approach (so fast!), we wanted to remind you of some great gift ideas for the quilter in your life:

Hands down, the most popular gift to receive among our customers is a Yankee Pride gift certificate. They're available in any denomination in the shop, and they never expire. With a crisp new gift certificate, we're like kids in a candy store (yes, it's the staff's favorite, too!). New fabric? Yes. Cool new notion? Add that to the pile, please! Gift certificates can even be used for classes. You can call the shop, or better yet, purchase one on our website here, and print it out at home.

A popular gift for anyone on your list is a finished quilt, whether it's a table runner, a wall hanging, a throw, or a bed quilt. We still have quite an inventory of finished items left from our Sample Sale. Stop by and check out what's here - you may find the perfect gift, already finished and ready to be wrapped.

Block-of-the-Month with Yankee Pride
Yes, both our Block-of-the-Month programs have started, but you can still join in - just call or stop in at the shop and sign up now - those quilts will be gorgeous!

Summer Moon, from Moda designer Carrie Nelson, is a 12-month sampler quilt, featuring both 30s and contemporary fabrics to create a summery feel. It's a great project for learning new techniques, as you'll be making blocks in three different sizes.

Christmas Figs is from the designers at Fig Tree Quilts. Deanna has chosen red, green, and white fabrics to use, but this quilt does not have to be all about Christmas! This BOM is also a good project if you want to improve your technique. You'll be making classic quilt blocks one at a time, in no rush!

Recent Fabric Arrivals

These are the highlights of recent arrivals. Click on the photo for a closeup, and click here if you're interested in purchasing any of these fabrics by the yard on our website:

Batiks

by Hoffman

This week's batik shipment had some wonderfully rich fabrics. Any one of the prints above will make a stunning bag. There's something here for everyone - flowers, leaves, and feathers, and some dark Bali solids. It's time to rebuild your batik stash!

Cherry Lemonade

from Jason Yenter

by In The Beginning

Is this pretty group 30s prints, or 40s prints? Does it really matter? They're quite lovely, whatever era they represent. Add in that border print (photo below) and a few tone-on-tones, and you'll be headed to the sewing machine.

Memoirs

from 3 Sisters

by Moda

Oh, what a lovely line of fabric this is! So elegant, and sophisticated, we're just itching to start something new with it. As a bonus, many of these prints will also match other 3 Sisters lines, too.

Notions, News, and other Interesting Stuff

It's that time again - the new magazines from France have arrived at the shop. Check out the November/December 2019 issue of Quiltmania for holiday quilts, and more. We love the different types of quilts we see in this magazine!

The new Simply Vintage is also gracing our shelves, with lots of adorable winter and holiday ideas. We have a limited amount of both mags, so don't wait too long, or they'll be gone!

Thank you, as always, for your business, and thank you for being our customer. We love that you still believe in shopping local!
