A 68-year-old female PACE participant presents with a past medical history of type 2 diabetes, diabetic neuropathy, anxiety, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and osteoporosis. CMS Releases Enhanced Drug Dashboard Update

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently released 2018 data and enhanced its Drug Spending Dashboards in the most comprehensive update of the tools to date. The update advances the agency's efforts to increase price transparency, lower drug prices, and strengthen the Medicare program to make it sustainable for future generations.
Continuous Proton Pump Inhibitor Use Associated with Increased Risk of Enteric Viral Infections

A recent study investigated the association between continuous use of Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) and occurrence of acute viral gastroenteritis during the winter months. The study found that continuous PPI use among individuals aged 45 years and older may be associated with an increased risk of enteric viral infections.
