You're Invited to a Cookout!
  ----------------------------
Worship This Week
This Saturday Noon at the Farm
What better to do on a summer Saturday than enjoy a cookout!

This Saturday you have an invitation to do just that, as the Chicago Lights Urban Farm hosts a free cookout at noon.

Bring a friend and come enjoy food from the grill and fresh from the farm, listen to live music, share fellowship with friends and neighbors, and play some games!

Did you miss the Windy City LIVE segment on the Urban Farm? You can check it out here.

Time:
Saturday, August 4
12:00 p.m.

Place:
Chicago Lights Urban Farm
(444 W. Chicago)
fourA Summer Abuzz with Activity
Made Possible by Your Gifts
If you have stopped by Fourth Church on a weekday this summer, you know that this place is full of energy and overflowing with activity. There is, in fact, even more going on here each summer weekday than there is during the school year!

The programs, opportunities, outreach, and services that more than fill our campus on summer weekdays--from Chicago Lights Summer Day to Urban Youth Mission to Meals Ministry Bag Lunches to Chicago Lights Dance Academy to Vacation Bible School to Center for Life and Learning Exercise classes . . . and more!--depend on the generous summer giving of members and friends.

To keep these programs going we depend on pledges being fulfilled and on additional gifts from members and friends. Gifts and pledge contributions can be made online (www.fourthchurch.org).

Thank you for your support!

For those who will not be here Sunday, there will also be an information session on Wednesday, August 15 at 6:15 p.m. in the Randolph Room as well.

If you can't make any of those sessions but would like to know more, please contact Anne Ellis.

Registration is required for this conversation group that will launch this autumn.
fiveNeeded: New Officer Candidates
Recommend Yourself or Fellow Members
Do you know someone with gifts for leadership and ministry? Consider recommending them--or yourself!--for an officer position with Fourth Church or Chicago Lights.

Recommendations for the offices of Elder, Deacon, Trustee, and Chicago Lights Board can be made online. Paper forms are also available at the church in the pew racks and literature racks.

The Officer Nominating Committee would greatly appreciate your assistance in helping them gather names this summer so they can begin their review of recommendations this fall.

Please take a moment in the coming week to send your suggestions their way.
