New A14 Committee Members

The Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) A14 assumes the responsibility for developing the standards which govern design, construction, testing, selection, care and safe use of ladders.
Subcommittees exist for each standard, headed by a Chair and comprised of subject experts; standards are revised on a five-year cycle.

We would like to welcome four new members to the A14 committee. Thank you for advocating for ladder safety and protocol through the establishment of standards.

Industry News

A common ladder-related error is placing a ladder on
uneven ground.

Using a ladder in, for example, a hilly backyard, places the ladder user at risk for injury. With over 160,000 ladder-related injuries occurring every year, join the American Ladder Institute and commit to ladder
 safety.
We recommend taking these two steps to provide additional stability and support to your ladder.

1. Remove obstructions from your ladder

2. Purchase additional security for the base of your ladder
