Transforming Generosity:  Stewardship 2019
Our stewardship campaign is winding down for the fall. Please get us your pledge of financial support by December 2. The vestry will be making final budget decisions at their meeting on December 15th. As of Nov. 19th, we have $325,358 from 92 pledgers toward our balanced budget goal of $450,000. THANK YOU so very much! Every pledge - every amount - and every person - counts. Questions about giving? Contact Doug Smith, Sr. Warden, [email protected]
Gratitude for your Generosity
Thank you to all who brought in food and grocery cards for our neighbors at Arcola Elementary School.  Jessica Port, the head of the Linkages to Learning Program at Arcola, loaded up the makings for Thanksgiving meals for 55 families on the 19th. They were thrilled!

Sunday School & Youth Group return next week

There will be no Children's Chapel, Youth group or Sunday School on Sunday, November 25th.  Children will join their families in the service. There are activity bags and children's bulletins available in the back of the sanctuary. There will be regular Nursery Care for infants and toddlers.

Bible Study this Sunday at 4PM

Please join us on Sundays as we begin reading Matthew, Mark and Luke in parallel. It should be enlightening and fun to see the differences. Why does Matthew's genealogy of Jesus stop at Abraham but Luke's genealogy continues back to Adam? Come to Bible study and find out the answer and more... All are welcome! No prior preparation is necessary and feel free to drop in any week. Questions? Please contact Lee Puricelli ([email protected])

- Coming Soon: Advent! -

Way of Love for Advent
Here are two ways to have a meaningful Advent:

The first is an Advent calendar, which offers daily suggestions for practicing the seven practices of the Way of Love, turn, learn, pray, worship, bless, go and rest. The calendar is available

Second, we are offering four sessions that will explore the first two chapters of the Gospel of Luke. Luke's gospel provides a pattern for understanding how we can live the  Way of Love as individuals, as families and friends, as a community, and out in the world. The sessions are:
Advent One :      The Annunciation: Saying "Yes" to the Journey
Advent Two :      Mary and Elizabeth: Journeying with Family and Friends
Advent Three :   The Birth of John the Baptist: Journeying with Community
Advent Four :     The Birth of Jesus: Journeying with the World

We would like to know when would be the best day and time for these sessions so we have created a survey. Please log your favorite time!

Whether you decide do either, both, or none of these activities, Christ Church wishes you a blessed and peaceful Advent. More info? Contact Lee Puricelli at [email protected]

Preparing for Christmas for Arcola Elementary Families!

On Sunday December 2nd we will begin our annual project to surprise our Arcola kids with a gift or two from their Holiday wish list. Once again the stockings will be hung by the chimney with care, with hopes you will be there to support a family! You are invited to stop at the Outreach table and select a stocking with a child's wish list on the back.
