REV. FLORENCE CAPLOW
There is much to lament at this time. Join us to feel, to weep, to reflect, and to connect with compassion with those who are suffering in so many ways right now – including ourselves. This contemplative service is an opportunity to “feel our feels” in a loving space, through poetry, music, meditation and reflection.
If you would like to submit a joy or sorrow to be read during the service, please send it to Rev. Florence Caplow at
joysandsorrows@uucuc.org.

The
online "Zoom" Fellowship Hour immediately follows the live streamed service each Sunday. Please note the password to enter the meeting is

REV. FLORENCE CAPLOW
In the midst of so much disruption, all over the earth there are signs of renewal, showing us just how resilient our natural world really is if we would just give it a chance. On this Easter Sunday, a time in the Christian calendar that celebrates renewal and arising from death, let's celebrate the ways our earth is singing and breathing, as her human children hunker down and do less.
We would love photos of people dressed up in Easter finery or Easter bonnets, or out in a beautiful place in nature for a slide show during the service. Please email them to Brian at
admin@uucuc.org by April 9th.

This survey is intended to check on the welfare and safety of all those in our UUCUC community, and to see if anyone within our community needs help in learning online communication systems, such as email and Zoom. In addition, we're gathering information from those who are willing to volunteer to assist others during this pandemic. We care about you all and we will get through this by helping one another.

From Randy Locke, Chair, UUCUC Board of Trustees
In order to continue to be proactive to minimize impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the UUCUC Board of Trustees has rescheduled the congregation’s annual meeting. While the meeting has historically been held early in May, changes to the bylaws last year specify that the annual meeting time is “to be determined by the Board of Trustees” (Article II, Section 1).

UUCUC'S NEW "BUDDY SYSTEM"
Staying connected while
UUCUC facilities are closed
During this time of social distancing, staying in touch and checking in with each other is going to be very important. We hope you will consider being part of our "Buddy System" so we can care for one another.
You can sign up here:

From Sam Beshers: Joy for the ways people are finding community and ways to be together. It is inspiring to hear the ways that people are looking out for one another, and particularly for those at risk. Sorrow for those who work to divide us. They shall fail.
From Erin Dittmer: Sorrow for the students who are missing out on important experiences during this chaotic time. Joy for all of the flowers blooming and the trees budding. Joy for the smell of rain. Joy for all of the sunshine I’ve seen in the WUNA windows.
From Randy Locke: In this time of transition, I am grateful to Rev. Caplow and the fantastic UUCUC staff. I am also grateful to all of the UUCUC volunteers that continue to find new ways to connect and serve their groups, the church, the community, and each other. You all are inspirations of incredible strength, compassion, and resilience in the face of challenge.
From Emily McKown: Grateful for so many things this morning. Grateful for my health, grateful for the support of this community. I feel the guidance of my elders at UUCUC holds me steady as I look to lead Channing-Murray to provide emergency food service. This morning, I feel truly grateful to call Urbana my home and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. This truly is a resilient and courageous community.
From Linda Owens: That we emerge from this pandemic with a saner and more compassionate system of governance and health care.
From Karla Peterson: Brother-in-law died last night in St. Paul, Minnesota after long struggle with many health issues. Thoughts and Prayers to my sister Mary and the entire family.
From Amy Robison: Kudos to our technical wizards and amazing music director for capturing the sound of our sacred space. Please continue to bring us the music that feeds our souls.

JOIN THE BUCKET BRIGADE!
Channing-Murray has been preparing a #bucketbrigade of essential grocery deliveries for extremely low-income families in Urbana who are recommended by
Cunningham Township Supervisor’s Office. These buckets have beans, rice, cereal, soup, eggs, and more! We've sanitized each and every item, and we’ll be delivering these to drop off on doorsteps.
Also, if you don't have funds to donate, but want to support the cause, there are some low-no-contact ways to volunteer. Please message
Emily McKown for more information.
