Building Lead Free 4 A Healthy Me Event With Health & Resource Fair
Join Council Member Cisneros and the City of Houston, HUD Secretary Dr. Ben Carson, and resource providers at the Building Lead Free 4 A Healthy Me health and resource fair. Kicking off the removal of lead from many neighborhood homes, this fair will feature fun activities for kids including meeting Walkaround Elmo, face painting, a pop up library, live music and more.

When: Saturday, April 21st, 10 am - 1 pm

2nd Ward: Community Meeting on Buffalo Bayou East Sector 4/25
Buffalo Bayou Partnership (BBP) is developing plans to transform the 5-mile stretch of Buffalo Bayou from US 59 to the Port of Houston Turning Basin. They are hosting a public meeting to present the first draft of the BBP's East Sector Area-Wide Plan. To attend this meeting, RSVP by sending an email here or calling 713.752.0314 ext 101.

Speed Cushions April 24th
Public Works is holding a public meeting on Tuesday, April 24th from 7 to 8 pm to discuss the recently installed and tested speed cushions in Woodland Heights. Public Works will present results, answer questions, and gather resident input. Residents can submit comments at the meeting or anytime online by clicking here .

Union Pacific Train Crew Hiring Event 4/26

Come see the Alley Theatre's Misa Fronteriza (Border Mass), a satirical comedy structured like a Catholic mass, about life near the US-Mexico border. The performance reflects upon and confronts the difficult realities about the border with sharp humor and a compelling point of view. Travelling from Monterrey, Mexico, the play will perform in Spanish with live simultaneous English translations at venues across Houston, including MECA and Talento Bilingue De Houston (TBH) .
