Near Northside: Casa de Amigos
Facilities Town Hall August 1st
Casa de Amigos and other Harris Health System facilities are being considered for future capital projects. In order to assist them in considering options that best meet the community's needs, Harris Health is conducting a public town hall meeting on August 1, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Moody Community Center located at 3725 Fulton Street . Independence Heights:
Free Health Fair Saturday
The community is invited to attend a Health Fair and Blood Drive in Independence Heights this Saturday. The event is free admission and refreshments will be provided.

Near Northside: Para Los Niños
If your family's first language is Spanish, you are invited to attend the Children's Museum's Para Los Niños program at Carnegie Library later this month. The program consists of a workshop providing parents with a model of how and what to read to a child, hands-on activities easily replicated at home, info on free resources, and free passes to the Children's Museum of Houston. ABC Dental Back to School Fair Tomorrow!
ABC Dental at Crosstimbers is hosting a free, family friendly event for those in need. Bring your children and receive backpacks with schools supplies (while supplies last) and other free resources.

Near Northside & Northline: National Night Out Grant Opportunity
This year, National Night Out (NNO) takes place on Tuesday, October 2nd in Houston. Avenue-GO Neighborhoods provides grants to civic clubs, apartment complexes, and community groups in the Near Northside and Northline so they can host their own NNO events for members and neighbors. Free informational workshops and one on one counseling are available for college and career planning needs at cafecollege Houston located within Carnegie Public Library at 1050 Quitman. Click here for hours and workshop dates.
