IMECaN participation in the Early Career Marine Planner Webinar Series
The MSPRN (Marine Spatial Planning Research Network) along with IMECaN, SUBMARINER, s.Pro, the Marine Planners network, IOC-UNESCO and MSP Global are organising a series of events designed for those just starting out in the field of marine planning or considering pursuing marine planning in the future. The first webinar was held on 29 April 2021 and consisted of a series of presentations from those working in the public, private and academic sectors designed to highlight the different opportunities available, the interdisciplinary nature of MSP, and the networks you can use to help further your career. Future webinars will be advertised widely, and more information can be found here.
EMODnet Open Conference and Jamboree 2021, 14.06.2021 - 18.06.2021, Online Connecting Open Data, Delivering Marine Knowledge: A Vision for 2030. During the event, EMODnet partners, data providers and users will connect across stakeholder communities and look ahead to help us design and implement EMODnet next phase to 2030 and beyond. To start the week, the Open Conference (14-16 June 2021) will provide a unique opportunity to recognise and further develop existing and emerging partnerships, and to listen to marine data providers and users experiences and appreciation of the value of EMODnet data, data products and services, and what can be done further to optimise the user experience. This event is co-organised by the EMODnet Secretariat and DG MARE, in collaboration with VLIZ. For further information and pre-registration, please see the event page.
The 4th Baltic MSP Forum will be held on 1-2 June 2021 online and will be broadcasted from Latvia. The focus is on Delivering MSP – Interactions and Capacities Across All Levels.

IOC/OTGA/STC Indonesia: Ocean Forecast System [Online], 9-20 August 2021 The Ocean Forecast System (OFS) can provide crucial information on ocean circulation, sea temperature, ocean waves, ocean current, salinity and sea level in terms to support marine weather information and services. This training course will improve participant’s competency in understanding ocean models and their skill to visualize and utilize OFS outputs. Applications due 30 June 2021.
