The Municipal Building Committee May 1st Site Visit!
You are invited to a Site Visit for our proposed new building on Saturday May 1 from 10:00 - 12:00. We invite you to stop by, park at the school, and come look at the proposed location of the building. Committee members and the Project Manager and Designer will be there to answer questions. Rain date will be Sunday May 2. Masks and Social Distancing will be required.

Richmond Scholarships
Applications for the Richmond Scholarships are available now at Bartlett's Orchard, Town Hall, Richmond Library, Richmond Post Office and Patricia Malnati's home on State Rd.
One application qualifies applicants for 8 scholarships. Application is open to any student expecting to be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in September.

NOTICE FROM THE TOWN CLERK
The deadline to apply for dog licenses for 2021 was March 31st, after which a $5.00 late fee was added to the cost. Licenses for dogs that are neutered or spayed cost $5.00 each. Unaltered dog licenses are $10.00 each.
Each dog being licensed must have documentation of up-to-date rabies vaccination, obtainable from your vet's office.

RECYCLE BINS
The new supply of trash recycling bins are here at Town Hall. If you are a new resident of Richmond your first bin is free. All subsequent bins will cost $12.50 each.
Come to Town Hall - ring the bell by the front door (press hard or we won't hear it) and just request the number of bins you want. Please have a check made out to "Town of Richmond" in the correct amount.

LATEST UPDATE ON REGISTRATION FOR VACCINES
HOMEBOUND VACCINATIONS - If you need an in-home vaccination, please contact the Homebound Vaccination Central Intake Line at (833) 983-0485. Representatives are available Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in both English and Spanish, and there is access to translators for over 100 languages.
Timeline for Remaining Groups:
- March 22nd Residents 60+ and certain workers
- April 5th - Residents 55+ and those with one certain medical condition
- April 19th - General Public ages 16 years and older
Vaccine Locations and Preregistration:
More sites will be added to the preregistration system in the coming weeks. Preregistration will replace the current online booking platforms for mass vaccination sites. The COVID-19 Vaccine Scheduling Resource Line will be available to help residents without internet access or with difficulty using the internet with the preregistration process.
The preregistration tool will be available at mass.gov/COVIDvaccine. After completing the form, residents will get a confirmation via text, e-mail or phone and receive a weekly update about their status. Residents may opt out of their preregistration at any time if they secure an appointment elsewhere.
When an appointment becomes available, the resident will be notified and will have 24 hours to accept the appointment. After 24 hours, the resident will go back into the queue to wait for another appointment.
To accommodate older residents and others who are unable to use the form, the preregistration form allows family members, caregivers or others to fill out the form. Residents who do not have internet access or someone to fill the form out for them can call 2-1-1 to preregister.
Eligibility has been expanded to include caregivers who assist and accompany seniors to a vaccination site. The caregiver should have an appointment on that day at that site to receive their vaccine. The best place to look is at getvaccinatedberkshires.org where advanced notice of open appointments is available.

Baby Animal time at the Hancock Shaker Village
The library is pleased to offer Richmond patrons a single use day pass letter to be used at the Hancock Shaker Village. (Please note that the library can only give out one letter per day so please be sure to call the library to reserve a day. The library only allows museum pass reservations for Hancock Shaker Village.)

Read for Seeds
The library is now facilitating a "Read for Seeds" for all ages. Reading Logs are available at the Library and the library will give seeds to everyone who returns their completed logs between April 6th and May 1st.

Richmond Consolidated School is Now Registering
Preschool and Kindergarten students for the 2021-2022 school year. District policy states that children must be 5 years old as of Sept. 1, 2021, to enter Kindergarten. Children who are 3 years old as of Sept.1, 2021 are eligible to attend our Preschool program based on a lottery system.
Parents or guardians of eligible children should call the school office at 413-698-2207 for more information. Preschool and Kindergarten screenings and orientation will be held at a later date: information will follow.
If you suspect your child may have special needs and is three years old or older, please call the Special Education Director, Mary Shook, at 413-698-4001. to schedule an evaluation.
