Sonoma Resource Conservation District and the Coast Range Watershed Institute, in cooperation with the Pepperwood Foundation, Friends of Mark West Watershed, and Sonoma County Regional Parks, are nearing completion of a 3-year hydrologic study of the upper Mark West Creek watershed. Please join us for a public meeting where we will present the results and key findings from this innovative project.

We will discuss the existing hydrologic ‘state of the watershed’ in terms of streamflow, groundwater recharge, water use, and fish habitat conditions. In addition, we will present our analysis of potential strategies to enhance and/or preserve streamflows in the watershed through controlled pond releases, forest and fuels management, recharge enhancement, and changes in water use, as well as the potential future challenges resulting from climate change.

We look forward to this opportunity to engage with the community, share what we have learned, and discuss how it can be applied to help guide efforts to preserve water supplies and restore in-stream habitat in this important watershed in the years to come.

Given the current situation with the coronavirus and public health concerns, we have decided to host this event as a webcast. There will be no in-person meeting. The webcast meeting will be held on April 9 th from 2 PM to 4 PM via Zoom (online meeting software). Click on agenda image above to review the agenda!
