Wellness Now: Your Oasis in a Hectic Day
In 2001, The Yoga Deck was published. Now, 17 years later, I'm excited to announce the publication of The Healing Yoga Deck! My hope is that this new deck, available in October, will complement the original (which continues to sell!).

So, how do the decks differ? In addition to having 10 more cards (60 vs. 50), The Healing Yoga Deck is designed to promote self-care. It is divided into 6 sections:

  • Energy Boosters
  • Neck, Shoulders & Back Helpers/Posture Supporters
  • Hip Helpers/Leg Strengtheners
  • Bone Builders/Better Balance
  • Digestive Helpers
  • Anxiety & Stress Relievers

The Healing Yoga Deck helps prevent and alleviate common conditions such as back and neck pain, digestive issues, anxiety, insomnia, and more. You may choose to focus on one particular area or instead, select a few cards from various sections for a broader session.

Seated Cat-Cow (below) is an example from The Healing Yoga Deck of how you can promote good health and support your well-being. Try it while sitting at your desk!

May you be well,

good health.
Seated Cat-Cow
Upavistha Marjaryasana-Bitilasana

  • Sit in a chair with a tall, elongated spine; roll shoulders down and away from the ears.
  • (fig. 1) Exhale, rounding your back in an exaggerated "C" curve (convex).
  • Allow your head to drop comfortably toward your chest.
  • (fig. 2) Inhale and straighten your back, thrusting your chest forward and squeezing the shoulder blades together. Accentuate the curve at the low back (concave).
  • Repeat the rounding/straightening movements 8-10 times.

Benefits:
Counteracts forward-bending positions
Improves posture and postural awareness
Promotes flexibility of the spine
Bonus! Breath + movement = a calm mind
Remember: You're only as young as your spine is flexible.
