Will you Be The One to Take Stock in Children?
Manatee students began online classes this week, the new normal for our teens. TSIC Manatee is making sure our mentors stay connected with their students during a disruptive time for them and their families. The user- friendly mentoring application will be rolled out to mentors in the next week. It was developed by the State TSIC for all affiliates.
The Take Stock in Children State Office have been working around the clock to roll out a mentor app that will help mentors and students communicate in a secure platform. The app is set to go live April 2, 2020.

Donor Assures TSIC Scholars Equipped for Online Classes.
A number of our scholars lacked computers to access their online schoolwork. Going fully digital challenged a number of our students. Competitive technology was critical for them to stay on track for academic success. We found 20 scholars needed laptops which business partner, Mark Sharff, promptly donated to assure they were ready. Thank you Mark and the Sarasota Technology Users Group who refurbished them.
2020 Seniors Ready for Graduation
Our 36 Seniors are ready for graduation; many have already gotten college commitments or will hear shortly. Looks like they will not march across the stage to receive their diplomas and our usual graduation event won’t happen. But we are thinking about ways to celebrate their accomplishments in innovative ways. Got ideas; please share with Executive Director, Anne Heller Anneheller@takestockmanatee.org
TSIC Manatee kicks off Legacy Circle
At a February 25 luncheon, Chairman Mark Barnebey, announced the formation of our Mission Maker Legacy Circle. The goals are to secure the future of Manatee students to have a Take Stock opportunity, celebrate legacy donors during their lifetime, and inspire others to consider TSIC as part of their community legacy.
