One in Five Minnesota families with children have a child with a disability or chronic health condition. We do not have to feel alone.

This virtual support group is being hosted by Parent Support Navigator, Jess Randall. Jess is a mom to two kids with complex needs and is in Northwest Minnesota. This closed group meeting is a safe space for parents to support one another, share concerns and resources.

Journaling for Self-Care Series
Introductory Webinar: Journaling for Self-Care
Tuesday, June 25th

Bring pen and paper and learn how writing can help you grow and cope.

In this webinar, you will be introduced to the concept of journaling for personal growth and self-care. Instruction on three effective journaling techniques and discussing the various situations in which they may be used for self-care will be provided.

Wednesday, July 24th

8:00 - 9:00 PM

This facilitated private group session is for parents of children with special health care needs. In this safe space, sharing will be encouraged but not required. 

Led by Brenda Hudson, a certified journal facilitator and writing teacher. Brenda has been teaching expressive writing for six years and uses journaling as a way of holding sacred space for her own experience as a special needs mom.

Children & Youth With Special Health Care Needs Focus Groups

In partnership with MDH, Wilder Research will be conducting a series of focus groups for parents, caregivers, or family members of children with disabilities, medical conditions, or other special health needs and we would like to invite you to participate in the focus group discussions. Your input will help set the direction for the Minnesota Department of Health’s (MDH) Children and Youth with Special Health Needs Program
Each participating family will receive a $50 Target gift card and food will be provided.

While this round of focus groups will take place in Saint Paul, a second round will be all remote for families in Greater Minnesota and for those who are unable to attend meetings in person. If you are interested in participating in a remote focus group, please contact Blair Harrison: blair.harrison@state.mn.us .
