GHF® Choices: DIY Education
It's JUNE - can you believe it? Time to breathe, and maybe take stock, before closing the book on this school year... and look toward the next! Just a little forethought and prep over the summer will have you cool, calm and collected in August, and DIY Education, our guided, self-paced, collaborative, yearlong course for parents who are involved in their kids' learning, doesn't take break. Carol and Kasi have three great themes on tap in the last quarter, "Cool Curriculum and Other Resources: June is all about the homeschooling holy grail, Roadschooling! July gets down to business with Navigating Curriculum, and August glides you into next year with Gearing Up for Fall. Workshops, videos, and chats by renowned gifted education specialist guests, plus an exclusive, supportive group of peers are all included... an unheard-of value and true labor of love to thank you for sustaining our non-profit work in the gifted community! The course is designed to start ANY TIME and take from it as much or as little as you desire - dip a toe in or fully immerse yourself! DIY Education is a benefit included in your supporting GHF® Choices Membership.

June 2021 - Roadschooling
"Roadschooling" may conjure up visions of global culture quests, or RVing cross-country, or maybe even going off the grid somewhere in nature, and it can be any of these, but it doesn't have to be - you might be attached to a little thing called a job, or not have a bazillion dollars and frequent flyer miles. You possibly don't relish the notion of managing sensory-intensity-overexcitability comfort issues in a rolling cell of forced confinement. You've been told nature has bugs in it. That killjoy, COVID, is still with us. Fortunately, roadschooling, at its core, is using what's around you - however expansive you determine that to be - and deriving meaning and educational value from these experiences. Suddenly the amped-up summer farmers' market is a learning adventure! You finally make the decision to see the local museum that you never quite got around to, because it was always there! Kasi and Carol will guide you to finding your opportunities and making the most of these lovely days.

It's not about just learning a collection of techniques and it's definitely not about memorization. It is about deep understanding and creative thinking. Join
