Marie Tippit: 
Widow of Officer Killed by Lee Harvey Oswald
Thursday, November 15 , 7:30 pm
  
Less than an hour after President Kennedy was shot in November, 1963, Dallas Police Officer J.D. Tippit was also shot four times by Lee Harvey Oswald as Tippit stopped to investigate Oswald who was walking on the street in Oak Cliff. Marie Tippit will recall those tumultuous days at the Allen Public Library. The Allen Police Department's officers will escort Marie to the library's stage, and Chief Brian Harvey will help introduce the widow of a fallen officer.

Enjoy a cup of tea and listen to Elliot Roosevelt Jr and Liz Roosevelt Kelley recount of their grandparents and great-grandparents, President Franklin Roosevelt and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt.



Juror No. 10: Texas vs. Rubinstein alias Jack Ruby

Waymon Rose of Allen will discuss his experience as the Juror Number 10 during the infamous 1964 trial of Texas vs. Rubinstein alias Jack Ruby. Jack Ruby fatally shot Lee Harvey Oswald two days after President Kennedy was assassinated. Mr. Rose says that after 30 minutes of deliberation, with the jury reviewing all details, the verdict became unanimous.
