  Veterans Day

We will be having our Academic Awards Ceremonies this week. Invitations were sent home with students last week. The ceremonies for K-5 grades will take place from 9:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. and the dates will be as follows. The ceremony for Pre-K will be on Friday from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. and will include a Thanksgiving family lunch! **

* Monday - November 12th: 4th & 5th Grades
* Tuesday - November 13th: 2nd & 3rd Grades
* Wednesday - November 14th: Kindergarten & 1st Grade
** Friday - November 16th: Pre-K

Every student is encouraged to read daily at home. There are incentives for students who are meeting their iReady Reading goals. Students can access iReady Reading by logging into launch.ocps.net

There will also be rewards for students that achieve each Accelerated Reader (AR) Point Club. Students earn AR Points by checking out library books from the Media Center, reading the AR books, and getting passing scores on the AR Quiz for the book. AR books can be read at home but the AR quizzes must be completed at school. Each classroom has a weekly scheduled time to check-out AR books from the library.

Thank you to all parents who attended Parent Conference Night. If you were unable to attend, please contact your child's teacher by either writing a note in their planner, sending your child's teacher an email, or calling the school at 407-354-2630 to speak with or leave a message for your child's teacher to call you. Report cards were distributed to students on Monday, October 29, 2018.

Our first Parent R.O.A.R. night was a success! Dean Williams discussed our school-wide discipline plan with parents and students. We hope that you will join us for our next Parent R.O.A.R. night in January.

Classroom instruction begins
It is very important that students arrive to school on time. Students can arrive on campus beginning at 7:45 a.m and are encouraged to eat breakfast in the cafeteria. All students need to be on campus and ready for instruction to begin in the classroom at 8:15 a.m.

Our parent and school relationship-building event for the month of November will be a School Spirit Night - Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Chuck E. Cheese's located at 7419 International Drive at 3:00 p.m.

If you have any questions or concerns about this event, please contact Mrs. Daniels, our PTA (Parent Teacher Association) president, at [email protected] or Mr. Emmanuel Galan, our Parent Engagement Liaison, at [email protected]

Please remember that school will not be open during Thanksgiving Break beginning November 19th through November 23rd!
