On another note, November 6 is the General Election in Texas and to vote in that election you must be a registered voter by October 9 (Next Tuesday).

Generating Revenue

While the #1 fiscal priority in Lovejoy ISD is that we are able to continue to offer all of the same programs which have made Lovejoy a special place for our kids; we continually work to find savings within our current budget to offset some of the loss of state funding. Our challenge has been to find creative ways to generate revenue in order to avoid cutting programs or adding a list of fees for services that parents must pay in order to ride the bus or participate in extracurricular activities. To date, we have generated revenue by:

     Offering Tuition-Based Pre-Kindergarten
Offering our Transfers with Tuition Program
     Increasing our summer enrichment classes
Offering summer online courses for high school credit
Increasing the price of football season tickets

While these efforts have cushioned the loss of revenue, we are still short of the funds required to support all programs. This Fall we have begun our Circle of Partners program which allows the Lovejoy ISD to assist some of our local partners with marketing their businesses within Lovejoy. Our Circle of Partners has committed to a charitable give back program to Lovejoy ISD for any sales/revenue generated within the Lovejoy ISD. The program was originally offered to our realtor friends, but has now been expanded to the other services you see below.

If you choose to do business with any of the Circle of Partners below, you will be driving revenue back into the school district to support our programs and avoid the use of fees to cover any shortfall.

Circle of Partners
We are pleased to announce our newest Circle of Partners members. Detailed information regarding these newest members will be provided in next week’s edition of Email Express:

Chadd Jones, with Jones Solar and Roofing , is pledging 10% of his profits on roofing or solar work completed in Lovejoy ISD.

Private tutoring is available for students in grades K-12 in all subjects. Tutoring 101 recommends once a week tutoring for an hour to increase grades and learn subject matter more deeply. A once a week appointment usually results in an increase of 1 letter grade or more. Turn those C's into B's.
