Be thankful for the affectionate and beloved animals in your life.  They give unconditional love to us, and we benefit so much from their presence.  In observance of this month of thankfulness, we have an adoption special on all cats one year and older.  Please come visit ... there could be a special kitty here for you!

Please visit our Facebook page for more information about our adoption promotions.

Visit our website to view all our cats available for adoption.

Note: our standard adoption  screening process applies to this promotion. Further, for cats age ten and older and cats with chronic medical problems we offer our Perpet-U-Care Program which provides
$250 of veterinary care services at the CCS Cat Clinic annually.

Tails of the
Painted Cats 2019
Cat Sponsors for Artists Needed
Cat Care Society is seeking artist sponsors for Tails of the Painted Cats 2019.
The cat forms recently arrived from Chicago and were distributed to their artists for painting and foster care until they are due back in March. The cats will then be photographed and prepared to go on their summer tour starting in May. The tour lineup includes the Lakewood Arts Council Gallery, The Depot Art Center in Littleton and the Lakewood Cultural Center.

The Artist Sponsorship program pays for the expenses incurred to get the project off the ground. The artists do not receive any compensation for their time and talent, so we help them through the process by providing the unpainted fiberglass form, a small stipend for supplies and a dinner ticket so they can watch their kitty go to its forever home. Covering these costs is vital to the success of this event. That's where our donors can lend a hand.

We hope you will consider a year-end donation that will help us make this signature event so successful.  Cat Care Society is a 501c3.   If you receive a required minimum distribution at year end, please consider using it to sponsor a cat.   Based on your tax situation this may be a tax deductible contribution.    The basic sponsorship level to cover the expenses listed above is $450. The next level is $600 which also includes a pair of dinner event tickets for the sponsor. All sponsors will be invited to a special Sneak Preview Champagne Reception on April 28, 2019, where they will meet the artist they sponsored and view all of the finished cats before they go on tour.
If you are interested in viewing the designs still available, please contact Jane Dorsey at 303-239-9680 Ext 16 or at [email protected]

The 2019 Tails of the Painted Cats Gala will be held at Pinehurst Country Club on September 14, 2019. Save the date!

Colorado Gives Day
December 4, 2018

Colorado Gives Day is just three weeks away!  This fundraiser is vitally important for Cat Care Society as we depend on your support to fulfill our mission of caring for cats in need.   Community First Foundation and First Bank are partnering to present Colorado Gives Day on Tuesday, December 4, 2018.  Please partner with our shelter this year with your contribution.  Donations are accepted through Coloradogives.org.

Colorado Gives Day offers a one million dollar incentive fund which is distributed to the non-profits proportionally based on contributions by supporters like you.   How your donation can help:
$500 will help us provide approximately 2 weeks of medications and medical supplies to the shelter cats.
Through our Food Bank, $250 will provide approximately 16 bags of cat litter to needy cats in our community.

We need your support, and every dollar counts..you can schedule your donation November 1 or after, or plan to give on December 4th!

Starting November 1, 2018, donations can be scheduled early by visiting: https://www.coloradogives.org/catcaresociety/overview

Opt to Adopt Shambika
My name is Shambika and I'm an 8 year old lady looking for a home of my own.  I was adopted from Cat Care Society as a kitten, with another cat, and we lived in a nice home for many years  with a human who loved us.   She recently became very ill, and wasn't able to keep caring for us.  She and her friends tried for months to find a new home for me and Meri-Isa, but no one was able to take us in.  Luckily our human remembered Cat Care, and they took us back in to find us homes.  We've been here for a few months, and things are going well, but I'm ready to find my new home now.  I love to play, and to sit outside on the catio in the sunshine.  I still like my sister Meri-Isa, but I would be okay if we went to separate homes.   Please come visit...I would love to meet you!

You can read more about Shambika on her Adopt-a-Pet page:

Please plan to sponsor a cat or cats at our shelter this holiday season with a picture themed ornament.  Our volunteers are creating individualized ornaments for each of our cats, and you can sponsor one with a $10 donation.  The ornaments will decorate our hallway tree, and will then belong to you.  Our goal is to have all our cats sponsored this season!

The ornaments will be available December 1 at the shelter, or you can sponsor on-line beginning November 27th.

Shelter Hand Crafted Ornament Drive
Dec 1- Dec 31, 2018

Year end giving is often on people's minds at this time of the year, and one way to help is to contribute with a larger donation to Cat Care Society.  You can do this with a sponsorship of a room, the Nibbles and Kibbles Food Bank, the hallway, or the entire shelter.  Hand crafted and decorated wooden ornaments are being created for each of these.  These ornaments will belong to you after the drive.  Your generosity helps us to fulfill our mission of helping homeless, abused, and neglected cats.

Donation levels:
$250 Donation for any of the Blue, Orange, Gold, Red, Purple, Green, or Kitten Rooms
$250 Donation for Nibbles and Kibbles Food Bank
$500 Donation for the Grand Hallway
$1000 Donation for the entire Shelter

You can sponsor a hand carved ornament directly at the shelter in December or starting November 27th you can sponsor securely online.

Shelter News

Now that our remodeling is complete with new floors, benches, and a glass front cat viewing area, we will gradually add new feline furniture for cat enrichment.  The towers, ramps, and Kitty Kasas we have chosen will provide more opportunities for cats to engage in the natural feline behavior that is so good for them....climbing, jumping, resting, hiding, scratching, and always-napping!  Please watch for more details about these and how you can help with your support.
