Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
At 2:00 p.m. today, Governor John Bel Edwards issued a
Stay At Home Order
for the State of Louisiana that will officially begin at 5:00 p.m. Monday, March 23. The order will be in place until at least Monday, April 13. You can read the official order
here
.
This is something none of us have experienced before. However, I know we can, and we will make it through this challenging time.
We can and we will because we can
"do all things through Christ who strengthens us."
(Philippians 4:13)
One of the ways I believe Christ will strengthen us during this time we are apart is by coming together for
Morning and Evening Prayer
each day.
Since ancient times the people of God have gathered for prayer at the beginning and ending of each day. We will be reclaiming this ancient practice for our time by using
Zoom
, the online meeting platform.
Even though we are forced to be apart, thanks to modern technology, we can stay united in prayer. There are two easy steps to join together for this special time.
- Download and print a copy of the prayer service here.
- Click Prayer Service to go to the Zoom meeting room. You may have to create an account or download the app if joining from a smartphone.
You can also join me in prayer via our
Facebook
page.
I hope you will join me each day at
8:30 a.m.
and
5:00 p.m.
for a time of prayer.
And remember,
“Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
(Joshua 1:9)
Grace & Peace,
Rev. Donnie Wilkinson
