The Vital Congregations Event
9:30 a.m. (Registration) - 3:00 p.m.

The Vital Congregations Event will take place tomorrow, Nov. 8, at New Covenant Community Church, 1587 W. Exchange St., Akron, 44313. Kathryn Threadgill from PCUSA will lead the event. We will order box lunches for $10 including drinks, paid at time of registration. If interested in attending, you can still register by clicking on the link above.

Pastors, elders, and church leaders are invited to attend this time of conversation and learning. Even if your church may or may not be ready to participate in this initiative, you will find this time with Kathryn a blessing to your ministry.

Board of Pensions Open Enrollment

Now through November 16, is the time for employees to make changes or elect benefits coverage for 2019. Employees will receive an email from Board of Pensions announcing the start of annual enrollment. Log on to Benefits Connect to submit elections for 2019 benefits — even if there is no change from 2018 benefits.

The Clerk’s Annual Questionnaire (CAQ) 2018 is now available on line. This questionnaire informs PC(USA) agencies about what congregations are doing and what their needs are. The deadline for completing the questionnaire is Thursday, November 15 . To get started, click (or copy and paste the link into your Internet browser):

KIDS COOKING ACADEMY – WORLD CUISINE SERIES – AUSTRALIA
Saturday, November 10, 2018
10:00 am – 11:30 am
Purposeful Eats Cooking Academy inspires students ages 7-18 to experience new foods and develop cooking skills. The World Cuisine Series will explore tasty and unique dishes from all over the world. Students have hands-on instruction of the featured foods, sample their creations and receive a copy of the recipe to recreate again at home!

Class fee is $25 per student. Space is limited and tickets must be purchased in advance.

This month we will highlight food from the land down under - Australia!

Ecumenical Community Thanksgiving Service
The Poland, Ohio area churches (Poland United Methodist, Poland Presbyterian, Heritage Presbyterian, Holy Family Roman Catholic, Bethel Friends Lutheran and Prince of Peace Lutheran) invite you to an Ecumenical Community Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 18th at 7:00 p.m. at Poland United Methodist Church (1940 Boardman Poland Road, Poland). Clergy from the churches will lead the service and a combined choir of the churches will provide the music. The offering will be directed to the Poland Food Pantry at Poland United Methodist Church.
