Financial Literacy: Surviving Student Loans + Library Services

HHPNC Culture and Equality Committee is organizing a Financial Empowerment Workshop, with help from local organizations, NCs and officials and ALL ARE WELCOME. The goal of the workshop is to provide information to help people survive student loans and other economic perils.

  • A mortgage advisor will speak to us about options and programs available to purchase a home even with large student loans. 
  • Arroyo Seco Librarian Sarah Moore will be speaking about FREE Library Services that can help you save money on services that you use regularly. 
  • A representative from the CA Department of Business Oversight will be speaking about avoidance of predatory loans and options available to those defrauded by for-profit colleges. 
  • A representative from the Securities and Exchange Commission LA Regional office will be on hand to provide information you can take home about avoiding investment fraud, bad retirement schemes, and other financial perils.

Food will be served. Translation services in Spanish will be provided.
