Hey!

I am super excited to highlight a couple of upcoming events for Middle and High School students! Check out the links, or scroll throughout the newsletter for more details on these opportunities:
  • Intersect- weekly student gathering every Sunday morning at 10am in the Discipleship room, donuts always included!
  • TREK Leadership Gathering- a chili lunch for families with a discussion around Jesus as Welcome during this season of thanksgiving and gratitude on Sunday, November 11 from 11:30am-12:45pm
  • Confirmation- open to all High School students, parent information meeting on Tuesday, November 13th from 7:00-8:00pm
  • Teen Yoga and Mindfulness- take some time to refocus during the stress of teen life. Free and no experience needed, every Tuesday night 7:30-8:30 at Crossroads
  • Christmas Pajama Party- more details to come soon! Mark your calendars for Sunday, December 9th from 5:30-7:30pm, at the Crossroads basement
  • The Pittsburgh Project- register by December 31st for 10% off this incredible service trip that takes place July 15-19

Student Ministries is Looking for Volunteers to Join Our Team!

Roles we need:
  • Mentors to lead games, lessons, & dialogues in Sunday morning Intersect (1-2x/month)
  • Mentors to assist and support Sunday morning Intersect (1-2x/month)
  • Mentors to lead weekly or bi-weekly small groups in conversation and spiritual practice (2-4x/month)
  • Volunteers to pick up snacks for morning and evening programs, as needed

This week, Intersect will begin a 3 week mini-series on the Inward, Outward, and Together journey as it relates to TREK and our everyday lives! Nancy McGovern, instructor of the Teen Yoga and Mindfulness class, will be leading some fun games to learn to differentiate the three

  • Encounter transformation through TREK (Trust, Resilience, Engagment, Knowledge)
  • Embrace new skills and resources to deepen personal values and purpose

Register today for The Pittsburgh Project!
July 15th-19th, 2019

The Pittsburgh Project is our summer service trip, open to rising 6th grade- 12th grade students. Come spend a week demonstrating God's love through home repair projects for vulnerable homeowners. It is the best week of the summer!

Teen Yoga & Mindfulness
Tuesdays, 7:30 - 8:30pm  @ Crossroads UMC
 
Teens today live in a stressful, competitive world full of constant technological stimulation. In this class , we will learn classic, gentle yoga poses and introduce breathing, relaxation, and mindfulness techniques to increase strength and flexibility of both the body and mind. Te ens can use these tools to help cope with the stress in their daily lives

No prior yoga experience is required. 
Yoga mats will be available, or you can bring your own.
