The Goshen Weekly, November 12, 2018

Extended Care students helped us make our final harvest from the Goshen Garden last week, picking two huge bags of spinach to deliver to the West Chester Food Cupboard. This growing season, our school donated just short of 400 pounds of fresh produce to the Food Cupboard and Chester County Food Bank. Way to go!

Message from the Head of School

Dear families,

Our first Safe in School drill went off without a hitch this morning. As I mentioned last week, we only tell the children that we're practicing in the event of bad weather. Our second drill will be held tomorrow. Thanks for supporting us in this important work!

When I came to school this morning, I was wowed to find two beautiful, handmade corn hole boards waiting in the administration building. Thank you to Bumblebees parents Marne Repetto and Mike Earyes for making these wonderful pieces that will be used by Goshen children and families for years to come. They are stenciled with our school logo and painted in Goshen green. They even came with very sturdy orange and green bags (fashioned, no doubt, after our Goshen Weekly colors!). Thank you, Marne and Mike! You are wonderful.

I never cease to be amazed by the talent and kindness in our community!

Have a great week, everyone!

In friendship,

Tr. Mimi

The GPC would like to thank Teachers Patty, Patrice, Carolyn, Jaime, and Kim for volunteering their Friday night to watch our children while parents enjoyed a night out. Parents' Night was so successful that a HOLIDAY EDITION has been planned. A special Parents' Afternoon Out will occur on Saturday, December 15,  from noon to 2:30 p.m. Mark your calendars! A flyer will be coming after Thanksgiving break. Lunch, snacks, and a craft activity is planned. Get some last minute shopping done or just enjoy some eggnog!  This event is open to all Goshen students and their siblings age 2 and up. Children must be 2 years old by 12/15. Any questions, please contact Jeanne at  jeannekan@gmail.com.

Do you purchase GIFT CARDS for the holidays? Order through the GPC and the school will receive a percentage of all sales! Look for a flyer coming home via backpack this week. Any questions, please contact Gina Hart ( hart.gina@gmail.com).

B&B Christmas Trees has offered to donate 15% of every item sold to our school when customers mention Goshen Friends. The B&B Christmas Trees lot, located next to the new CVS in Exton across from the Pour House and Whole Foods, will start sales on Black Friday. Please show them the flyer ( click here to download!) or just mention Goshen Friends School. Feel free to pass on this deal to any family or friends who purchase live trees for the holiday season! Wreaths and roping are also available.

Save the Date: The GPC's December meeting will be our traditional Holiday Celebration (adults only) on Wednesday, December 19 (Snow/fire date: 12/20), at Jeanne Czubaroff's home.
