When Talking Isn't Working: Tips to Communicate with Your Loved One With Dementia

Come to this engaging, interactive workshop to learn ways to communicate better with your loved one, build skills to help them and yourself, and improve your relationship!

This year Crossroads will be providing Thanksgiving Baskets to needy families at Payne Elementary in Northwest DC. Payne Elementary students are tutored by Crossroads volunteers each week. The
majority of students at this school qualify for free or reduced lunch. The Crossroads UMC family is honored to help serve our brothers and sisters in DC and share the love of Jesus during the holiday season.

Ashburn Farm Thanksgiving Day Run - Celebrating 25 Years!

Whether you run to win, run for fun, run to support a good cause, or run just because you want a guilt-free day of eating - plan to join us for the 25th Annual Ashburn Farm 10K/5K and 2K Fun Run Thanksgiving Day races! Proceeds from the races continue to educate Ugandan children who live in poverty and are extremely vulnerable, a mission of Crossroads UMC since 1999.

Where: The Pilgrimage, Washington DC - www.thepilgrimage.org

Who: Participants of all ages welcome (including families)

Teen Yoga & Mindfulness
Tuesdays, 7:30 - 8:30pm

Teens today live in a stressful, competitive world full of constant technological stimulation. Yoga & Mindfulness provide a winning combination of tools teens can use to help cope with the stress in their daily lives.

In this class, we will learn classic, gentle yoga poses and introduce breathing, relaxation and mindfulness techniques to increase strength and flexibility of both the body and mind. 
Pittsburgh Project Middle & High School Mission Trip
July 15th - July 19th

This year's Pittsburgh Project Mission Trip is open to students in both middle and high school. The trip cost is $385 per student. If your student registers by 12/31/18, there is a 10% discount and the cost is $350 per student.

MOPS and MOMSnext
 
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) is a worldwide ministry that encourages mothers of young children who are adjusting to the joys and challenges of motherhood. MOPS meets on the 2nd and 4th Fridays September through May  from 9-11:30 AM.

MOPS yard sale is this Saturday, November 10th from 9:00 am - 12:30 pm at Crossroads

MOMSnext is a group experience designed to encourage, equip and develop mothers of school age children. MOMSnext meets at Crossroads most 1st and 3rd Fridays from 12:00-2:00 PM from September through May.
