Way of Love - Rest

This Sunday we focus on the last of the seven practices for a Jesus-centered life: "Rest."

100 Anniversary of Armistice Day This Sunday!

Veterans Day, when we pause to honor the service and sacrifices of our military veterans, was originally known as Armistice Day, and is commemorated every year on the 11th of November to mark the armistice signed between the Allies of World War I and Germany at Compiègne, France, for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front of World War I, which took effect at eleven o'clock in the morning-the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" of 1918

Sunday School

"Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." (Philippians 4) Cindy Winder will lead the Chapel children in how we find rest when we pause to give thanks for our blessings. Ann Enkiri will gather Sunday School children of all ages in the Grades 1-3 Classroom on the lower level. We will explore some of the many ways that we can rest because God strengthens and encourages each one of us.

Youth Group

Middle and high school youth are invited to join Madi and Kitty in the loft for youth group today. We continue our study of superheroes with Madi's personal favorite - Captain America! Come out for snacks and great conversation!

Bible Study This Sunday at 4PM

Please join us on Sundays as we begin reading Matthew, Mark and Luke in parallel. It should be enlightening and fun to see the differences. Why does Matthew's genealogy of Jesus stop at Abraham but Luke's genealogy continues back to Adam? Come to Bible study and find out the answer and more... All are welcome! No prior preparation is necessary and feel free to drop in any week. Questions? Please contact Lee Puricelli (leepuricelli@yahoo.com)

Transforming Generosity:  Stewardship 2019

We're half way there! We need you to help us to make it to our goal of $450,000 so that we can not only continue but deepen our vibrant ministry.  (As of 11/9, we have received pledges for $231,922.) If you haven't pledged yet, please take a moment to do so!

A Message from Dwight Allen, Junior Warden

Supporting Christ Church financially and through our involvement in church activities is a joy for my wife Joan and me. We are relatively new members, having discovered Christ Church just a couple of years ago when we visited the Wednesday evening service. It was love at first sight. Since then we have found so much more to treasure - the Sunday morning services, the Sunday 5:30 service, the music program, the Bible study, the outreach activities, and in my case helping out with Sunday school and serving on the vestry. And above all there is the wonderful sense of unconditional welcome and acceptance.

We pledge as generously as we can. How can we do otherwise? God has given us the great gift of salvation through Christ Jesus, and God's love is so very apparent in our lives through worship and fellowship at Christ Church.

We are honored to help ensure that this gem of a church continues to serve, and I hope that others, especially fellow new arrivals, will choose to participate wholeheartedly as well.

Thanksgiving Dinner for
Arcola Elementary Families!

All donations must be at CC by Sunday, Nov 18th in order to have them ready for pickup on the 19th.  A $25 Safeway or Giant gift card will be given to each family so they may purchase the meat/specialty foods of their choice. Bring the food to church, and put it in the last classroom on the upstairs hallway near the Choir Room.
Thank you for caring and sharing - Virginia Sheard, Outreach Com. 301-949-3372 or boots3303@aol.com
