World Vets Responds to Australia Bush Fires

The Australian Bush Fires have intensified and there is no doubt that many have now seen the horrific images and heard the heartbreaking statistics. The loss of life and impact on humans and animals is catastrophic.

We are grateful to all of our supporters asking how they can help. Our Australia-based veterinary team, led by World Vets Disaster Response Veterinarian Dr Ben Brown, is on the ground and currently responding to assist injured wildlife, livestock and domestic animals. Our specialized team is comprised of Australian veterinarians and technicians with experience in disaster relief and mixed animal veterinary medicine including native wildlife.

Our most urgent need right now is for funds to purchase additional veterinary supplies such as burn creams, IV fluids, bandages and pain medications. We are collaborating with Sydney Animal Hospitals Northern Beaches , the local veterinary community and our established network of veterinary professionals in Australia.

Please note: World Vets will not be recruiting volunteers for this effort. We kindly ask that those interested in volunteering their services abstain from reaching out.

World Vets Assists Sea Lion Impaled on Bolt

Earlier this month, World Vets worked with network partners of the West Coast Marine Mammal Stranding Network, to successfully free a California sea lion that was impaled on a bolt in Seattle, WA. This was a multi-agency response with World Vets , Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife , Seal Sitters, SR³ - Sealife Response, Rehabilitation & Research and Alaska Fisheries Science Center's Marine Mammal Laboratory. @ NOAA Fisheries West Coast

Happy Holidays from Peru!

Over the Winter holidays World Vets operated its International Veterinary Medicine (IVM) Program in Cusco, Peru.

Cusco is the new location for our IVM Program, which is World Vets official student program. This volunteer training opportunity provides students with the chance to

gain practical veterinary experience abroad while helping animals in disadvantaged communities. See pictures

The IVM Program also provides volunteer opportunities for DVM and LVT/RVT veterinary instructors interested in teaching and mentoring students.
