Legislation advanced
The New Jersey State Legislature has reconvened of late to address various legislative proposals. Legislation listed below has advanced through the legislative process. · A4202 - Requires Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services to establish and maintain hotline for people with disabilities.
· A2429 - Establishes "Transportation Services Coordination Task Force."
· A4138 - Requires Division of Developmental Disabilities to develop public emergency response plan for service providers and facilities serving individuals with developmental disabilities.
· A2429 - Establishes “Transportation Services Coordination Task Force.”
· A4239 - Requires Division of Developmental Disabilities, during public health emergency, to develop guidance for in-person visitation at community-based residential settings for individuals with developmental disabilities and require providers to allow such visitation.
· S2761 - Authorizes hospital patient with developmental disabilities to have designated family member, guardian, direct support professional, or other caregiver accompany patient throughout hospital stay.
· S2783 - Makes Fiscal Year 2020 supplemental appropriations of $125.575 million for Homestead Benefit - Calendar Year 2020 Program and Senior and Disabled Citizens' Property Tax Freeze.
· S2795 - Requires each nursing home to employ patient advocate.
Legislation that has become law
· S362 - Requires NJT to operate Access Link paratransit service during state of emergency under certain circumstances.
· A2456 - Provides that users of Access Link paratransit service are automatically eligible for and enrolled in motor bus and rail passenger discounted fare program.
