PetConnect Rescue News - November 2018 Edition
Dear PetConnect Rescue Family,

I'm excited to be on board as the new executive director of Pet Connect as we close out another extraordinary year of rescue. Hundreds more dogs and cats are safe today because of our amazing volunteers and supporters!

As we prepare to give thanks this holiday season, I'd like to share some of what I'm thankful for this year: I'm thankful that there are people like you who give selflessly of your time, talents and love to save animals in need. I am in awe of the variety and depth of skills our volunteers bring to every facet of rescue -- and thankful that each and every one of you has chosen to be part of PetConnect. And, finally, I'm thankful to be a new member of the PetConnect family!

Warmest wishes for a happy, healthy holiday season,

Lisa Velenovsky
Executive Director

This year, be a hero to animals like Blackberry and Kirk
(both adoptable)  who are depending on your generosity.
Holiday Supply Drive
Each year, PetConnect Rescue holds a supply drive to help sustain us through the winter months. We are looking for volunteers to make large donation boxes, arrange for placement of them, and manage those donations. And, of course, we need people to donate! This is a great way to involve the whole family and the community.
Our Wish List:
  • Unopened adult Dog & Cat Food (with meat as the 1st ingredient)
  • Unopened Science Diet Kitten dry food
  • Wet Canned Kitten and Cat Food (Royal Canin Kitten/Baby Cat and Proplan preferred)
  • Unscented Litter (clumping, non-clumping, kitten attract and cat attract)
  • Cleaning Supplies: trash bags, bleach, paper towels, dog poop bags, Clorox wipes, sponges, hand brooms/dust pans, litter scoopers, mops, mop buckets, and push brooms
  • Quick-release Martingale collars (all sizes)
  • Pet store gift cards

Our Awesome Adoptables!
Did you know that November is Adopt-a-Senior Month?

Cats and dogs ages seven and up are typically labeled as seniors. They are often placed at the top of the euthanasia lists which is unfortunate because most seniors have plenty of love and life left to give. They are perfect for households looking for the quiet love and companionship of a pet without all the puppy and kitten drama. Check out two of our seniors here...
Cosmo
Maisy

Hi there, I'm Cosmo and I'm about 8 years old. I haven't always been treated well but I'm not angry about that. I love life and want nothing more to hang out with you and maybe some other dog and kid friends. I'm used to living outside, tied to a tree, so I'm just learning about house manners. Please will you give me a chance to finally have my very own family?

Well, hello there. I'm Maisy and I'm 8 years old. My previous caretakers dropped me off at the shelter when they moved. I was very nervous in the shelter because it was so noisy and I was used to a quiet home. I'm looking for a forever family who will truly love me. Do you have a quiet home and some love you'd be willing to share with me? Please!
