It’s been a good year for our city

By all accounts, 2018 has been a banner year for Peachtree Corners. It’s been just six 1/2 years since we officially incorporated as Gwinnett County’s newest city.

I along with our six city council members are proud of the work that has been accomplished since we stood up Peachtree Corners on July 1, 2012.

As we usher in a new year, I would like to take time to look back at just some of the city’s many accomplishments in 2018.

City Adopts Public Art Initiative
A new initiative adopted by the Peachtree Corners City Council on Nov. 27 will encourage developers and property owners to include sculpture and other visual art in development projects.

Celebrating New Year's Eve with Fireworks
On Dec. 31 (New Year’s Eve), residents may discharge fireworks between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. (Jan.1). The hours are regulated by the State of Georgia and enforced by the local authorities (Gwinnett County Police).
PTC Branded Merchandise Now Available

Due to popular demand from residents, branded Peachtree Corners merchandise is now available for sale through the City’s Online Store

Street Resurfacing Underway

Repaving work on 22 streets in the River Station subdivision has begun. You may find a complete list of the subdivision streets here

The link also provides an interactive map that highlights the streets around the city that have been or will be resurfaced in the near future.

More New Sidewalks Coming
Six new sidewalks will be installed in the coming months on the following roads. Work is expected to begin in early 2019.

  • E. Jones Bridge Road
  • Lou Ivy Road
  • Metric Place

Town Center Update
Despite the rainy weather, the Town Center is on track for a spring 2019 grand-opening event. However, several restaurants and retail shops are expected to open in the next two months.

Coding School Offered at Prototype Prime
The city of Peachtree Corners is partnering with  Georgia Tech Professional Education   (GTPE) to provide a 24-week coding boot camp at  Prototype Prime , the startup incubator located in Technology Park.

Classes begin January 28, 2019.
